Resets: One fast tow permitted Start: Standing Flags: local only Password: see abovePlease make sure you are fully aware of the UKiR Rules - particularly the rules about general conduct and in-game chat messages. NOTE: All sessions protected by the main password, there is no seperate 'pre-event practice' A couple of notes re. Blue Flags during qualifying and race where they differ from GTR2; Blue Flags during qualifying - if you see a blue flag during qualifying it will be on your outlap and the driver approaching is on a hotlap. Please take this into account and act accordingly. The driver behind does not know you are on an outlap so no rash moves out of the way please Usual SRouk rules / guidelines should be applied. Blue Flags during the race - if you see a blue flag during the race it means the driver approaching is about to lap you. Please take this into account and act accordingly. It differs from GTR2 in that you will not be penalised for not allowing the lapping driver to pass within a certain period. The flag is informational only. Usual SRouk rules / guidelines should be applied.

Why is everyone getting confused over LM at Zandvort and V8 at Mid Ohio? lol
Not actually bought the track yet and it will force me into trying to get the hang of the car. I really want to like it and drive it but after a few laps it gets very frustrating.

Yep there were definitely at least 28 people saying wow, "that looks like a fantastic way to spend my Friday night - even a night out with a scantily clad Cameron Diaz and her Kia Cee'd wouldn't keep from attending.
Serious!

If it's any consolation, I am finding exactly the same I'll be racing if I can though.

For those who have not done laps on this track in iRacing, your in for a real treat. They have done an outstanding job recreating it. "Everything" appears to be there down to the last slick spots of the track.

Another great looking poster mr. oily, and I'm not exaggerating...
How come I don't see it posted in the official iRacing forum, in the Hosted Sessions section?

Thanks Kruger, you're welcome back any time I was going to leave it until tomorrow to post over on the iRacing forums, followed by another "server is up" post on the Friday to bump it back up the list but perhaps you're right - probably worth giving as much warning as possible. Haven't quite worked out what works best yet, I'm working on the basis every man and his dog is running hosted races so they'll get forgotten about quickly but hopefully people are looking for these now...with any luck!

Ooooh this is going to be a tricky one! The new build adds another dimension of difficulty - just what's needed around when racing monsters around a tight circuit! I was using Shane's setup last night and it was a million miles better than what I had - might be worth a go.... http://members.iracing.com/iforum/thread.jspa?threadID=96090&tstart=0

Word of warning, this is not an easy combo. iR's version of the track is a lot narrower and twistier than i've driven in other sims and the cars inherent ability to go sideways at a moments throttle application is an interesting mix!

Shane's site seems to point to some .ch site that Chrome tells me is harbouring malware so I've stayed well clear However if someone cares to post a drivable setup somewhere clean I suspect I'll be in need of one Edit: Must be one of the adverts as I went back to cut and paste the details inorder to send him a pm and nothing got flagged up

A car that doesnt like going round corners and one of the tightest and twistiest track, not the greatest combo, sorry Oily.

It's not so bad once you get used to it. Many a driver has stated this is one of the most difficult tracks to race on. This car is a handful. But every car I race is a handfull LOL. I almost broke 1:30 with one of the set ups I found where the guy got a 1:25. My problem is balancing the braking since this car likes to lock them up. Well ... for me anyways. I did find it likes to brake to the right. You can almost stand on the brakes to start a turn to the right. Oily, this was a hell of a car to cut my teeth on being away from online racing for a while. Thank you for the unique challenge here I am sure I will not be blazing any speed records on Friday, but I will finish the race with any luck.

I have posted the setup I've been playing with at Team Shark. You have to have patience here and don't try to hit the turns fast, it just won't work with this car. It seems to like an early turn-in, feels like you almost stop at the apex then power it out. Once you get into the swing of it, it's a great combo I've managed to get into 1:26's BTW
