laps times are pretty much irrelevant for this race I feel. Twas good fun chasing Matt for a bit last night but boy its tough to pass here. The wibbly wobbly nature of the Porkers makes it virtually impossible. Resultantly, tonight should be a stiff challenge, all about race craft and good fun Smiley I'll probably crash and burn early doors.

yeah i tried a race with the ai, it certainly helps to get a feel using these in traffic. Any strong contact will see peeps hitting the armco as nothing in the way of run off areas around most of the track and the kerbs can be deadly for spitting you off though you can actually ride alot of them here quite well without problem.
Looking forward to it though, looks great seeing the multi-coloured iroc field heading through the corners sideways. Cool

Now why the heck cant i do 36's...even Matts managing it  Wink

Hi Guys

Just installed PnG last week and would like to join tonight if there's room please?  Struggling a bit lot for pace, but I dare say a few of you, despite your perplexingly quick pace will be throwing yourselves off at times in these extremely polar-weighted machines.  Wink  Unfortunately so will I no doubt!

Look forward to seeing you later..

Yes. Come join us Dave. As a new driver you will be starting in the back the 1st race, but subsequent events will see you starting in reverse of your average finish order for the series.

SBG said it right about this event. It will be very challenging to make it from the back to the front. All of us have to keep our witts about us and not do anything stupid on track. Surviving will be key.

Ahh carp! The boss is really pressing me to come into the city and work today so in the interest of keeping my job, I must comply. Another race will be missed. It's been a more miss than hit season for me so far. I'm sorry I can't join you guys. I was really looking forward to this one. It is a great car/track combo in my opinion.

Goldtop or Legzy, will you guys be able to mangle the field for me?

Hi Dave,

Good to see you in here.

I find the 911 IROC to be about the nearest thing to GPL so you should be doing fine.

Beginning to lose interest a tad.

Nobody to set the grid then the start lights were so difficult to see that I apparently got a SnG for jumping the start, didn't see it and was then disqualified.

What fun!

Well that was a right mess this evening. Hope you guys managed to have a good race despite all the confusion in quali. As you might be aware, I'm not racing PnG at the mo and it was only by chance that I popped in at quali time to see if all was well, which is when I read Mike's post about him having to miss this one.

Although I can mangle the grid using the server manager, I need time to prepare. I find that printing off the spreadsheet and ticking off manually is the most reliable way to do this as I only have a single screen setup. I would not have been able to complete the job within the time left in quali session.

Don't worry yourselves Tudor and Mike, think everyone made the best of it. Thx to Matt and MJ for some great racing. Could just about sneak past both of you with better exit outta final turn and later braking into T1 but that was the only difference. Proud as punch with it first time around on you Matt Smiley

For me, PnG has got the balance between fun and realism just right. You realise that even more after a 2 month break Smiley Roll on PnG 3.

phewee, that was very tough racing. Tongue Those cars sure give your neck muscles a work out !!  sweatdrop

Before this evening i would have been very happy to get a 4th place finish but now i feel slightly disapointed, eheh !  Tongue

Chaos reigned at the start as we all sat waiting for a green light but it was just reds on/off and several appeared to jump start from the back and got instant stop & go's  nono which was a shame, followed by several then going off at T1  Roll Eyes

It seemed like half the field left in the first 9 laps  Huh

Anyhoo, after T1 chaos i weeved my way through to 3rd being chased hard by Lazlow. He got by me after several laps of hard chasing but then promptly outbraked himself at the now hazardous T1 a lap or 2 later Grin
An italian was way out in front with me 2nd for a few laps then he disapeared (disco or stacked it - not sure)  Undecided so i found myself leading the race with a decent 5 sec gap over chasing Matt and Ian which lasted until about lap 17 when i got squirelly off a kerb and ran wide, dropping to 3rd  Sad
Then Matt had an off, back upto 2nd  Smiley no chance of catching or beating Ian, even when he had an off allowing me to close, he promptly shot off again.
Then with what looked a certain podium on the cards, the rapid Guiseppe Real reeled me in as my cars back end got looser and looser with a 22wear on the rear left and on the final blinking lap he made a great move up the inside of me up the hill to nick my hard fought for pody slot  :'(

4th place was better than i expected with so many rapid drivers but theres always a chance when so easy to make a mistake on the limit in these cars, so always something to race for  Smiley

Congrats to Ian, Matt and Guiseppe. Cool

Tough race. Real shame so many missed the lights. I had done a couple of short AI races to see if I could stay on
with a crowd around me, so knew they went red one at a time, then a short off then green, was not obvious though
Wondered why some went into pits end of lap 1. I rather enjoyed it, though had I fallen off badly I would have hated it. Chased a few, got past, then was caught by SBG who was a good 2 secs faster on a clear lap. Your braking
distance into T1 was an aircraft carrier shorter than mine, and I was using the engine braking like crazy.
Caught MJ very slowly, then we each had  an off, mine was while trying not to do anything unexpected with SBG
playing on my tail waiting to pass. Not sure about MJ, I came round T1 and there seemed to have been some tangling
SBG fell off into the fence once, but it didn't slow him enough for me to make a serious attempt at a win, I could
have driven mega defensive I suppose, but that's not what I'm here for.

Out of curiousity, I translated my previous post into Italian then back to English, the results are humorous  laugh
I must have missed the "yard" at the back of the pits...Hope you didn't hurt yourself too much Ian.

tough race. pity to lose so many lights. I made a couple of short races AI to see if I could stay on
with a crowd around me, so I knew which turned red, one at a time, then a quick off then green, was not evident, however,
Wondered why some went to a pit end of lap 1. I liked it enough, even if I fell ill I would have hated. Chased a couple, but I passed, then was captured by SBG that was a good 2 seconds faster on a clean lap. Braking
T1-distance carrier was shorter than mine, and I was using the engine brake like crazy.
Caught MJ very slowly, then we each had a deep, while mine was trying not to do anything unexpected with SBG
playing on my tail waiting to pass. Not sure about MJ, I resumed T1 and there seemed to have been some tangle
SBG fell in the yard once, but not slow enough for me to make a serious attempt to win, I could
have led defensive mega suppose, but that's not what I'm here for.

Many apologies guys for the last minute ditch to go to the city. I really wanted to race. Work has been intense for me lately. Too bad I didn't have more time to devote to the racing and managment. Last season wasn't like this.
