OK So I'm new at this but I am on holiday anyway and as Steve Bird can vouch I am slooooow - I thought 1:34 was pretty good!

Looking forward to some practices against you guys where I can admire in my mirrors and then almost immediately your exhaust pipes in front.

Enjoy it.

All gotta start somewhere Paul, and you were getting quicker.  Sure you got a 1:30 at one stage!  Keep up the practise Smiley  Plenty of willing people here to give you tips and you may want to consider joining one of the many Teams in UKGPL.  The Hiki-Waza team are recruiting and looking for a Novice to develop!  http://racingleague.co.cc/hikiwaza/news/hiki-waza-is-recruiting-for-ukgpl-season-20/

You mean at Hiki-Waza? If so (and if Evil agrees as well), I'll send you an invite.

I can't commit to a team at the moment Hristo.  I'm about to 'pick up sticks', and rearrange them in a new location.  I am honored that the Waza might consider my humble self worthy, but my destiny awaits an uncertain Internet connection.

OK, no problem, our doors are wide open for anyone running (or planning to) in the Novice and Privateers divisions. If your situation improves just let me or Evil know.  Wink

Hristo,

I'd quite like to sign up but you may want to see my lap times before you take me (ahem) I have had GPL for about seven years but I have never taken it seriously before. I had a serious illness last year that meant I had a lot of time off - I also had to build a new PC so GPL called again and I improved my times a lot and was feeling quite smug but then met you lot on line. I had a fun race with Achim Kraft on GPLRACER a few months ago and it turned out I was using an F2 chassis - I didn't even notice - I just thought they were REALLY fast - but they waited for me - a lot Grin. So looking to improve but I have some ingrained bad habits. What do you say (and what am I committing to?)

Cheers,

Paul.

It looks like we will have a full squad for this, but I will be in the chatroom if needed.
Paul, like you I have ambitions of joining a team, but in my case family commitments prevent me giving 100% attendance. To that aim I campaigned a Honda in 65's this year, and even with all the help have found it hard going. It seems to require a different, dare I say more brutal technique than the green monsters, and I am still coming to terms with that. Never give up though, and there's always next season.
Stay on the hard stuff and all will be well.

A bit of history will stand you in good stead Paul.
http://www.hiki-waza.dsvh.co.uk/

She has decreed that you may join the Mighty Wazas and learn at HER feet.
You MUST drive the White Whale whenever possible and show the round eyes how puny their machines truly are.
You will be fitted with a fireproof fundoshi and white headband as your driving suit. Eventually, like all Wazas you will learn to drive by sense of smell and all or your victories are belonging to HER.
You will have to abandon your name and adopt a suitable Waza tag which you may choose.

Oh, I didn't know the old site is still up, thought the domain had expired. I'll link to it from our blog then, instead of linking to the partial backup I had.
