Are you sure you are on the right track? I did a 1:07.597, which seems to be way too much of a gap on such a short track.

Cars understeer like hell and are horrible to drive out of the box, so after some extreme setup tweaking I got them to drive a lot more enjoyable with my setup.

Jeff when I go to download this I just get a note pad type of read out as opposed to a race 07 setup file...any help Undecided

Copy and paste everything into notepad, then save it as a normal setup. If that doesn't work, I'll upload it somewhere else Smiley

Thanks for posting this Jeffrey. A very nice setup  Cool

Defaults are pretty bad tho Wink .

If you don't like the FFB, try this, I use it and it feels nice:

Feels real to me

And for this. I had to greatly decrease the steering force % value in game for my DFGT but it now feels very good.

Your welcome, it's actually a very easily made setup. The rear is as stiff as it can be, whereas the front is almost as soft as possible Cheesy

And for this. I had to greatly decrease the steering force % value in game for my DFGT but it now feels very good.

That file made a huge difference to me, before it I didn't like Race 07/GTR Evo/On (etc  Roll Eyes) but now the cars feel more like GTR2 and rF to me.

Sorry gt can't make this event - will be in Italy.  I've updated Steam etc on my old XP drive and it all looks good.  We had a Caterham Series in another league a few years ago and as your planned Series is UK based I guess I've raced on most of the tracks in one format or another, so I hope to be able to give it ago - particularly when the weather gets colder and there's no outside jobs waiting to be done.

Have a good race, I'll be thinking of y'all - I don't think, too busy enjoying the sights, food and wine.

Jeff thanks for this, but for some reason i can't see the setup file in game (followed above instructions) i seem to be having this same issue with the Radical mod...files are there when opened in windows but in game no sign ..is this anything to do with Windows 7 64bit?

Can't seem to crack lower than 1:09s so far but I'll keep working at it.

I have W7 64 bit too with no problems. Race 07 filters the setups by car and track. Make sure you are looking in the right trackfolder (especially the year) and the right car (BHP).

Setup should do in:

X:\Users\*name*\Documents\SimBin\RACE 07\UserData\CarSetups\2007_Zandvoort_Club

Re-uploaded to here :

http://www.2shared.com/file/-r9yS1gB/Caterham.html

Look for "Save file to your PC: click here" at the bottom right. Could be that saving it manually doesn't work.

Race 07 has the facility of including AI cars in online races. For this event we have decided to include 5 AI cars to race alongside us so that we can evaluate their contribution. Depending on their behaviour and our feedback from this event, we might invite them along for the forthcoming series.

Details added to race announcement.

Cars understeer like hell and are horrible to drive out of the box, so after some extreme setup tweaking I got them to drive a lot more enjoyable with my setup.

Due to some "technical difficulties" it's been a while since I've had the chance to return to Race 07 but managed to get another session in tonight. Thanks for the setup Mr Ruskus. I liked it straight away which is unusual as I often find other folks setups feel wrong to me and I end up fiddling with things and probably ruining them  Roll Eyes.

Well tonight I got my time down to 1:10.577 which compared exactly with the slowest AI driver. I checked the sector times and I see that I'm losing time only in sector 2 so at least I know where I can improve. Like these cars a lot but there are a couple of kerbs that can spin you around I found.

I like the AI in practise at least. They don't bother me, I don't bother them  Grin

I'm really looking forward to this, and putting AI cars into the mix is a fantastic idea  thumbup1 thumbup2

Just done a quick time trial to make sure the game still works since I haven't played it for months. only did a few laps on a default setup 'load and drive' type thing and was easily into 1.10s within a couple of laps so with some practice and setting up I guess another second or so should be possible.

Have you decided what AI strength settings your going to use yet?

For the test race the AI strength is set to 100%. If Goldtop decides to use them in proper races he could adjust this, up or down, dependant on your feedback.

I remember the AI was competitive at 110%. Race07 AI is much better than GTR2. The AI at 110% for GTR2 is pathetic.

Yes I agree, although they can still be a bit sleepy at the start.

From my testing, the AI seems to vary from track to track. One would expect this with add ons, but this seems to be the case with the standard tracks too. I suggest we see how it goes for this test race and if it's popular, then perhaps we can vary the % for each race in the series so that it is appropriate for each track.

BTW as much as I'd like to, I can't take the credit for coming up with this idea as that belongs to Tony  thumbup1
