The server is now running Rockingham. I've included 5 AI but I'm not sure how well behaved they'll be here with that nasty chicane and those hairpins. Let us know what you think.

It was a rainy old day at Rockingham when this race took place IRL, so I've replicated this as far as I can. Should add to the fun devil

It looks almost certain that an unforeseen visit to the dentist tomorrow will rule me out for this. Have fun guys.

Not a track I know.  Had a look at it too much to learn particularly since I have never raced a Caterham in the rain - at least if I have I don't remember it.

I've never raced the cats in the wet, I've never raced Rockingham either. Expect to see me making lots of mistakes during the practice! I'd hope by qual I'll be able to drive around even if a bit slowly.

For those who've not had a chance to practice and are worried about racing a new track in the wet......and at the risk of spoiling some of the fun......

The server is set to 70% rain, which for this track equates to lightish rain conditions and predictable grip levels. From my testing tyre choice is marginal; wets are safest, but slicks could be quicker if you can handle them. If you've never raced R07 in the rain before, the realism is stunning.

Rockingham is an underused and underestimated track imo and it should provide some excellent racing.

Edit: it's actually set to 60% rain but description of conditions still apply.

I think I can make it to this event. I've never done Rockingham before, but it can't be too hard to learn. It's a roval afterall. The wet should be interesting; especially in race 2. Hopefully I can cobble together settings after installing Windows 7 on my machine and then slap together a setup.

My dentist failed to kill me so I may be able to attend this. Mind you I dont know the track so I might be a mobile chicane (whats new?)

After a thrilling three days doing a GIS course, that was what I needed Smiley

Pleased with virtually error free R1 but that was rather overshadowed by R2. Got trapped behind a spun Legzy (who blamed it on the AI Roll Eyes Wink) early doors and resultantly had great fun dicing with him and Tony. Not sure if AI hindered us or added to the fun, they were rather erratic, but it certainly wasn't dull. Delighted to fight my way past them and thought I may have had a chance to close down Mike. Fat chance. He drove faultlessly to pick up the win. Congrats to him and all.

Thought the track was much fun and luckily much like BTCC version, apart from silly first chicane (?), which made it easier to learn, thank gawd. Nice work Tudor.

I rather enjoyed both races. It was a real challenge to learn the track in the soggy conditions, but the challenge is part of the draw. Ginsters certainly had my number tonight with fast laps right around 1 seconds quicker than mine. I had nothing for him the 1st race and only got away with the win in the second because I checked out to a 13 second lead early. The spray really did impact your vision. Spot on.

Hopefully I can break away from work to race again next week. It looks promising as I'll be in NYC Mon, Tue and Thursday next week.

Good fun this evening and really enjoyed it despite a few being away for various reasons.

Made a bit of a mess of both races, particularly R1 when I went a bit hot into the first chicane and ended up skidding through the grass and into Pete  Embarrassed Sorry.

The wet conditions made it difficult to make up time as whenever I got into a groove I'd end up pushing on just a little too much and undo all my progress.

Congrats to the podies and well done all. BTW what tyres did you opt for?.....I went with wets but struggled with temps all night.

And don't forget to have your say in the choice of mod for next season........

Is it possible for one AI driver to hold a grudge? Undecided

I thoroughly enjoyed both races, was concerned after last nights practice, but GT got the combo spot on again Cool

Race One, I was still learning the track Embarrassed. Once I got the hang of it, I started making up places & had a thoroughly entertaining race, particularly with the AI. I am concerned though, while I was coming back through the field, Duncan Walker
was going way slower than I thought round the flat out oval part & I accidentally "nudged him" angel. The so & so, got me straight back with a "friendly nudge" of his own going through the T1 chicane Angry laugh...

Race Two, I started 2nd on the grid & my "mate AI" Duncan Walker behind me. I made a good start & was lined up nicely to get through the T1 chicane behind the guy in p1... SMACK!!!  My "Mate" Duncan launched me round & drove off, leaving be stranded, hold everyone up (only compensation was Ginsters being stuck their too Wink). So 2nd to 9th I think it was, but I drove lovely & was running 5th having caught & past "good old" Duncan, despite his love taps & intimidation tactics (charging at me & late braking) Tongue. Managed to work a little bit of a gap & set my mind on tracking down Picnic. I got a bit of a wobble on & had to lose some speed to get full control back... sorted & going again & guess what happens? My "Mate" AI Duncan hoofs into me (something must have been wrong with the whole other side of the track Undecided Roll Eyes) & I'm sent spinning into a wall Angry.
I had no problem with any other AI driver & must have raced every one of them at some point. If they do seek revenge (I'm far from convinced now that they don't), I'm dead impressed. A fantastic addition they were tonight for me & my enjoyment. Grin

Chris

p.s. oh yeah, congrats to all the human drivers Wink
p.p.s. Felt like good simulated rain too, but I fear that may have impacted tonight's attendance. Some people adore having wet races, but a lot of people seem to dread them (in GTR2 world anyway)
