It doesn't allow me here to use any mirrors at all. Huh Something in my options?

Not sure if you mean this, but for rear view mirror options got to:

Options / Visual Settings / make sure you have 'vehicle' selected / rear view mirror.  I have 'Virtual'.

I might struggle to make qualifying or race1 but hope to join late if I'm back in time.

Good turn out, growing again a little this week Smiley

Another good couple of races, though I was a little frustrated I couldn't get near my times of last night, particularly in race 1. Race 2 i got down to a 26.4, but I was confident last night I'd break into the 25's.

Enjoyed some good racing again, not sure how many more times I'll get away with saying how excellent this sim is to actually 'race' with people thumbup1 & not just hot lap with other driver equally spread out on track for fear of touching. Lips Sealed whistling

Well done Ian & Tudor on your wins. Nice to see you joining too Steve Cool

Shame you didn't make that Steve, what a cracker in R2.

R1 was bit quite but, after last night, I was just itching to get to R2. Nice of Ade to play the team game and couldn't believe that Tudor and I were up to P2 and 3 after one lap. We reeled Steve in slowly. He might be rusty but he still knows how to race, cheeky monkey. No way I could get past him and the field began to bunch up again. I was now attempting to get past Steve with Lazlow ready to pounce. It was Lazlow who took the first chance but we came together even, bugger and sorry, which then let Pete through. Pete was going strong then made a very impressive exit right across my bows Shocked Think Steve then slipped up somewhere and it was then just Tudor in front. Piled on the pressure but he didn't flinch, kerbie material you see, for last 5 laps and brought it home for a great win. Congrats to all as that, Lazlow clash apart, was the best race I've had in an age.

Nice to see a strong Leg-Ends presence and we all await the entry of their finest, MJ, with some trepidation. Just a few more faces and this will have a great future.

I think the Cats are a love hate thing. No ordinary races, they are either good or total rubbish. However tonight's did even reach the heights of total rubbish. I never got to grips with the car/track combo and the fact I survived more than 1 lap in race 2 was more down to luck than anything. Better forgotten quickly or it'll all discourage me from driving these again!

Had much MUCH better races before and after in iR  whistling

To add insult to injury I see I didn't even get any points for race 1 as I never made it to the end of the first lap  Roll Eyes

I don't know how you do it Pete, no practice, turn up from an i(bore)Race & shoot out some very decent lap times Shocked
I bet if I tried that, I'd probably not make it past lap one & be quite frustrated Wink

Had a nice start to Race1 with a good exit out of Old Hall and was in P3 behind Ian and Ade at the hairpin. Had a great few laps putting pressure on Ade, until he spun it off the inside kerb at the hairpin and I was away. Meanwhile Ian had built a big gap in front, so I just concentrated on keeping in neat and managing the gap back to TT for a 2nd place.

Race2 was a corker. I luckily managed to avoid the incident at the hairpin on lap 1 and drove through to 2nd behind Steve, with Ian right behind me. A couple of laps later I made my only real error of the 2 races when I went too hot through Cascades and Ian was through. Upfront Steve was doing a good job holding off Ian and I was able to tag on. I had a nice exit out of Old Hall and through Avenue and sneaked past Ian on the outside into 2nd. Steve then ran too deep into the hairpin and I was through for the lead Shocked

Managed to pull a 3 or 4 second gap at one stage, but once Ian had cleared Steve he quickly closed in on me. Now with 5 or 6 laps to go, that's about the last thing I want to see in my mirrors  scaredWink  After last week's GTC race, I was determined not to make any silly mistakes and throw it away so I dug deep and I was just able to keep you at bay to the end.  sweatdrop

Have to apologize to nsfast for a touch. Was a bit too late on the brakes and there was contact. As I was thinking of waiting there was a blood trail on the ground and it took me off to more racing. Only later did I realize that this really was a Championship race. As I was there the first time it was a fun race for me and now I must apologize doubly. Will be more careful in later races. Undecided

Must say this sim really drags me. It's better made than GTR2 and we need some mods to keep the GT classes going. I think MJ hit it on the head: this really feels the natural way froward. Cool

P.S. @ Picnic: you were making totaly decent laps in R2 and you would have more consistency with a bit of practice and better setup. Smiley Join the iHaters. Tongue

Enjoyed tonight, I hope to have more races like these.
It's just incredible how close you can drive these cars Cool

Race 1 - I managed to get swamped by other drivers at the start, even though I thought I got a reasonable get away Huh Ended up down the order, not being able to challenge to much the people infront. I think I must of picked up a knock because the car wasn't handling the same as it was in practice.

Race 2 - Managed to just miss Ade's sideways slide going down to the hairpin, which left GT, SBG and myself to battle it out for position on the track. It was shaping up to be an epic as SBG tried to get past GT while keeping a watchful eye on my very close presence behind. I managed to get a run on SBG going through the two right handers, and decided to make my move going into the second from last corner....I dived down the inside just locking my inside rear brake, causing our two cars to clash side by side going through the corner, and because my car was slightly unsettled going over the brow of the hill, my car span round leaving me near the back of grid.....shame, because I was really enjoying that battle.

Well done to all the podiums and see you next time for some more close racing....can't wait!!!

Sorry I missed the race guys. I worked in New York again. It looks like this will become a regular thing in the future. More on that later...

I guess it's a bit unfair to moan as I admit to little practice but I'm not quick at this racing lark and usually find a pace I'm comfortable with in 10 or so laps. After another 10 I will have set a lap time I will struggle to beat. I don't have the patience these days to spend hours stumbling around a track that keeps spitting me off unless I'm driving around at a snails pace. A quick lap time does not a race make. I was always an accident waiting to happen and in hindsight I really should have recognised this and not raced.

P.S. I did even less practice for the 2 iR races  Tongue

Spent most of the evening trying to work around my apparently hijacked steam account
Having nmot heard from steam support for a day, I decided to buy another key on line]
was only 13 quid, so I will not be destitute. (after the race they sent me a reply with
instructions to get my account back) I had no setup time but was happy to run near the back
I like the cats, I like the way they are "chuckable" I like the cliose racing. I constantly struggle
with the braking. Have tried people's setups to no avail. Have tried bias from 58 to 65 front
I have tried reducing brake effect to the min of 90%, yet I still lock wheels. I have not worked
out exactly which wheels... sometime the front locks, then quickly followed by the rears locking
That's what happened on Lap 1 last night, went into the island hairpin as I had been doing, and
locked wheels and slid into someone causing a domino chain. Sorry for that, no one seemed
to get hit hard, but I then fell off more than once in the next lap, and called it a day.
If I can;t race these things because of braking I would rather use something else, as my
patience for them is now paper thin.

There was some good racing to be had, as was mentioned, at least for the first few handful of laps I could keep it together.  So 2 last places.  And an inability to really balance on the limit.  And that was me on a good day.

Hope Race 07 can be a success, I always thought it drove closest to what my car feels like on track, but I think my attendance may remain intermittent at best.

If not will try and join whenever i can, which may not be often  Sad

What version are you all on out of interest? I thought i removed Race07 a while back but still runs via steam for me. Vers 1.2.1.2 is what mine shows. But it lists some updates on steam which i thought it auto applies?

Ironically, my GTR evo key code isnt working on steam  Roll Eyes have contacted their support desk to find out why but bet its somehow picking up that i had Race97 already on there. So just offline evo for me at the moment.
