All members welcome. Grid/server capacity: 25 Practice: ~19:10 (60 mins) Race 1 Qualifying: 20:10 (20 mins) Race 1: 20:30 14 laps~20mins, then following shortly afterwards with reverse grid Race 2: 14 laps~20mins Track: Oulton Park (Island) Download thisCars allowed: Caterham CSR200 Time of Day Setting: 14:00 Weather: DRY Start: STANDING Tyre wear: Normal Fuel consumption: Normal Server: UKRACE07 CRC Password: see aboveNotes: (1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage. (2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules. Special Notes: The grid procedure for Race 07 events is slightly different from GTL/GTR2. Upon joining the grid, you won't be able to rev your engine until all drivers are present on the grid. Do not attempt to esc back to garage or you will be DQ'd.

I *hope* I will be though!
Finally finished a VERY slow upgrade to Win 7, ten minutes here, ten minutes there, and am finally up and running.
Quick practice and the little Cat is a bucking bronco over the bumps. The kerbs are nasty too, seem to drag the nose in or spit the tail out. Best avoided. Oulton looks great with the shimmering trees though.
No laptime, I'm too embarrassed, everyone will be much faster, I seem to be relearning how to drive again!
Fingers crossed I'm not doing my usual falling-asleep-when-I-get-home-from-work trick.

Is anyone else getting airborne on the run down to Cascades? I don't think my setup is particularly stiff but seem to be leaping off the brow of the down hill section.
I noticed the AI (offline) seem to be struggling to keep on track there too.

Well I'm having to lift just before the final hump in Cascades and then brake only lightly to maintain momentum into the turn. The AI haven't worked this out and usually end up in a pile on the right hand grass bank, which is why they're not running here. I've had a good look at this section of the track in my visits to Oulton and it's very well replicated here. IRL you're guarranteed to see a few unfortunates end their race in the kitty litter at the bottom of the hill through going in too hot. You've been warned

Great great classic fun there tonight, really good close stuff Managed a 1:26.2 under the pressure of the last race of the night What was crazy, was just how close our times all were (all six of us) & just how close you're able to be corner after corner

Is there anyway to have a snap view of outside (like F10 in GPL for those familiar)? Not that it happens very often but if someone is following behind and makes a move to pass I feel obliged to just let them through as I cant see where they are from the rather useless virtual mirror. I'm using 'hood' view by default. Or would it be better to utilise a 90 degree side view from the wheel buttons or something?
Any suggestions?

Unfortunately I am going to declare myself doubtfull for this event. Real shame as I love the track but with no practise I think it would just end in tears.
Have fun chaps
