All members welcome.

Grid/server capacity: 25

Practice: ~19:10 (60 mins)
Race 1 Qualifying: 20:10 (20 mins)
Race 1: 20:30 24 laps~20mins, then following shortly afterwards with reverse grid
Race 2: 24 laps~20mins

Track: Brands Hatch (Indy)

Cars allowed: Caterham CSR200

Time of Day Setting: 14:00
Weather: DRY
Start: STANDING
Tyre wear: Normal
Fuel consumption: Normal

Server: UKRACE07 CRC
Password: see above

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.

Special Notes: The grid procedure for Race 07 events is slightly different from GTL/GTR2. Upon joining the grid, you won't be able to rev your engine until all drivers are present on the grid. Do not attempt to esc back to garage or you will be DQ'd.

Tried a offline race against the AI this afternoon and although it was good I was way faster than the AI. Don't know if the AI are taking part in the race on Wednesday night but there strength may need to be tweaked to suit?
Looking forward to this one, having missed last weeks race.

AI are running on the server atm so any feedback regards their pace will help me set their strength for the race.

What was your offline set to Tony?

All I adjusted was the skill setting to PRO. I did not change anything else.

Yeah, right.

Managing 0:52's with the very occasional 0:51. Suggest that if the AI can be made to match these laptimes or better, they should be very entertaining.

so you can have AI drivers filling out the field with Race/evo ? Cool.

Tony, just putting them at Pro isnt enough, there is also a percentage adjuster. I tried AI at 105% in GT1 and they were too fast, leaving me trailing and 95% for their GTC/GT3 class and they were pretty quick and competitive (managed 4th). I'd say somewhere between 95-100 will give you a very good challenge.

Are you using the carp in-game version of Brands or the much better add-on track?

'If' i can make it, may try and join you guys for this on wednesday.  Smiley

Didn't know there was a better version of Brands available and I agree the elevations through Paddock and up to Druids seem way off. Bit late to change things for this race, but if you can point me to the better version I'll gladly test it and get it in for the Clios and cats events next season.

Hardly done any practice here yet, which doesn't bode well for me repeating last week's performance. There are usually a few of us testing late on Tuesday evenings...would be cool to see you there if you can make it MJ......and anyone else who fancies it.

hmm, quick google search came up blank. I thought the much better 2005 brands mod had been made for race/evo too but can only find it for GTR2 and Rf.  Undecided

Thanks for the AI tip MJ.

Looks like the AI online are doing respectable 0:51's, 52's so should be a good night

There's probably an obvious reason that I'm missing but why don't we remove the pw from pracci server? I'm sure we might drag in the odd casual punter who stumbles upon us and is impressed by the welcome/our skillz (as long as they avoid our "friendly" Tuesday night race  Wink )

You see, this is what I like about this place...plenty of innovative thinking  Smiley

Unless anyone objects I'll remove the p/w for tonight's practice session and see who pops their head around the door. Maybe an effective way to promote our league, which might also work with other events. Nice one Ian  Wink

Nice thinking Ian, and something perhaps worth using in our GT & p&G leagues too. We have also noticed a few drivers joining us from gamers crib since a few of us did some races over there, so proves that more awareness of us has the potential to pull punters in for good racing.  Smiley

I think its great that we can have AI drivers to fill out the fields too  Cool Much better to have a full grid of cars than a handful and i have so far found the AI in Evo/Race pretty good to race against.

Still 50/50 i can make this, just cant commit on a wednesday eve. Sad

Great to see that there's a large pool of Race punters we can pull in Smiley All in all, I was impressed by the majority of drivers there. Not sure I'd want to race that Guyo fella though Wink

Can we have automated chat messages saying who we are, league schedule etc.?

Yep, was nice to see a bit of a crowd going tonight. I had a look at the server this am with a thought of setting an automated message, but couldn't see any obvious way of doing so. It can be done though, so if anyone can point me in the right direction I'll get onto it.
