Well, it's time to start the normal Pre-Season Handbags with some chassis allocations.

As you know, Novices will again be using a chassis allocation style handicap, and once you are allocated a chassis you must use it for the enitre season unless the moderator has permitted or requested a change.

Last year the handicapping system used gave us 5 potential champions on the grid for the final race so believe me when I say that I do keep an eye on it throughout the season, and people in a chassis that is too fast or too slow for them will be reviewed as the season progresses.

Like last year the chassis will be split into groups 1 to 4 as below:

GROUP 1
Lotus, Ferrari, BRM, Honda

GROUP 2
BT11

GROUP 3
Cooper

GROUP 4
BT7

The cars in Group 1 are generally faster than the others, though each of them has different strengths and suit different circuit styles, over the season they will be the best chassis.

Each driver will also be seeded either 1, 2, 3 or 4, and you may take any car in your seeding group or any car below it, but not above it.

i.e. If you are seeded 2 you may take any car in group 2, 3 or 4 but not 1. If you are seeded 3 you may take either the Cooper or the BT7 but nothing faster. If you are seeded 1 you may take any chassis you prefer.

The chassis that you start Race 1 with will be considered your choice for the season unless the moderator permits otherwise.

I would expect no less form the Novices.

It's the Amateurs who cause all the trouble round here LOL.

to be honest for some of us its almost irrelevant. i could have a 1975 car and still come last.. or an 85 car for that matter... or a 2005 even!   slow is a state of mind Smiley

Because nobody is out and out faster than the rest. The one I almost gave it to was Burtoner who may be a bit of a dark horse in the Cooper but we'll see how it goes.

Slow is also a state of being in a hedge and generally a faster chassis helps me arrive at said hedge much more quickly - BTW Vosblod definitely has the wrong chassis allocation - he should be in the Amateurs  Grin

Well for reasons previously mentioned I'm going for a season in the Coop. If for some reason I appeared misplaced I would move, but I really don't think that will happen  Wink

Paul, just want to remind you that as long as you're a Waza you HAVE to take Honda in each division whenever the rules allow, such as in this case.  Wink

Thanks Ronnie!  I was late with the paperwork, but the anguish has been building since.  As compensation for mental strife, I shall demand free access to Team Lotus! angel
