So Simon pushes Mike on the outside of turn 1, thinks better of it and is then slow through the corner, Jim gives him a slight nudge, Simon spins into me, I then spin into Ken!  :'(

Twice in 2 races I havn't made turn 2!  :'(

Nuts.

I was going pretty well until Shark got behind me after a spin, he closed up, I hit the kerb in T1 leaving Shark nowhere to go except into the back of me, broken car Sad

It looked like you were OK to continue Shark, hope you were.

Shark always seems to be OK to continue, he must have an armour plated version of the Mazda!! Smiley

I got lucky there.  I should really have been about 5th, I just don't have the pace on this track, I find it terrifying.

3 guys ahead of me got disconnections, I finished 2nd, that's it really.  I'm just glad I survived it.

A shame to see so many disconnections tonight.

I had one towards the end of practice and my internet was still working.

Sad to see Darren go on the grid, then Dave and then Brendan which then killed the race which could and should have been so much better.

Could not make the 18s in quali and was 0.5sec off my PB but that was enough(only just) for pole.

Made a mistake a few laps in. Snatched at a gear and lost the rear end and that allowed Brendan to pass and Dave to get on my tail.

Took a few laps to settle and it's always a dilemma here to either push hard and risk a mistake or hope the car ahead makes one first. I was closing on the wing of Brendan and he had a little wobble that gifted me back the lead.

Dave disconnected leaving Brendan and myself clear. I still was not confident of pushing too hard but was doing enough to keep the gap consistent with Brendan before his disconnection killed the race.

Shame to see so many having issues outwith their control. Unlucky.

Just realised though, next race is Milwaukee. I think I'll take my chances in the pack!! My luck has to change sometime??? Of the 5 races this season, I missed the first two, got the faintest of warp contacts at Mosport on lap two that sent me flying off, got dinged in to the wall at Laguna after the standing start melee and then tonight didn't make it past turn 2 on the first lap!!!!

So ruddy annoyed it's just not funny. Only consolation is it was a Shark 1-2 even without my help, with Brendan and Darren both getting disco'd and with enough pace to have been 2nd without too much bother, after the stupid game crashed I had to drive the wheels off that hairdryer just to get 8th. Roll Eyes

Just to add insult to injury I missed out on fastest lap by 15 thousands of a second - might've got it on the last lap but I caught Mike in just the wrong place. Bah. Roll Eyes

TBH I was surprised I had such good pace, though Barber is probably a good place for my driving style.

That's the end of my iRacing until Week 13 now. I can't say I'm unhappy to be missing the oval race! Tongue Grin

 Sad and  Angry

Put in plenty of practice for this one and was very happy with a PB and 2nd on the grid.  Snuck by Brian when he snatched a gear into the penultimate turn only for me to do the same thing a few laps later at T2 and gift the place back. Roll Eyes

Tried to keep up with Brian and was within 2 secs for much of the race, dropped back a bit when coming through lapped traffic and with about 5 to go my PC died.  Complete power failure which has only now resolved itself half an hour later.

So, what should have been a pleasing finish, spoiled by gremlins.

Grats to all finishers.

Damage wasn't too bad tonight amazingly, but I was still having to drive with the steering bent, holding the wheel in slightly funny direction and altering other parts of my driving to compensate. I reckon the damage was a 0.5 down on the times I could have been running.

Ignoring the damaged car, other than where I finished I had a really bad race overall.  Undecided

Was side-by-side with Mike towards T1 Lap 1, but backed out of it as he had the inside. I was a bit slow then, but wide and unfortunately got nurfed sending me into a pinball style incident taking out Martin and Ken. Then after Oily got past I span on the final turn spinning to the inside, rejoined to see Pops coming at full pelt out the final bend, so headed for barrier to let him take line, only he presumably thought the same thing only in reverse and so as I went to give him the line he tried to go around me and we ended up going the same direction. That was a near miss. Shocked Got close to him into T1, but wasn't close enough and at a risky corner to try anything so backed out of it. Unfortunately Pops had a moment then and there and I nurfed him into oblivion.

I thoroughly hate this car, it has no grip and no feel, just seems to float on the track and slide around like some derranged ice hockey puck with no link to reality at all.

Won't be here for the next round as I don't do ovals (and don't have Milwaukee either), not a fan of Silverstone, especially in this car, so I probably won't do this series again till the Zandvoort and Road Atlanta rounds.

Those last couple of turns have caught me out so many times I have to concentrate super-hard so didn't even notice I was closing in on you of the F3 screen! After changing my mind about 50 times on which way to go I just managed to avoid you Cheesy

A lap 1 turn 1 incident & Mr Shark involved... Shocked Kiss

OK race, actually beat four drivers tonight, even if they were limping round or had had disconnects...

& unless I'm mistaken, I'm ahead of Team mate Blunder in both championships after this one Tongue (once the results get posted *hint*). Queue his excuses....

Did anyone manage to save a replay for this? If so, would you be willing to bung it somewhere for download.

Cheers.
