Built in Villa Reale park north of Monza and officially opened on 3 September 1922. The 1933 race was marked by the deaths of three drivers and the Grand Prix layout was changed, with two chicanes added and the longer straights removed. The first grand prix after WW2 was held on 17 October 1948. The high speed bank‌ing was added in 1954. 1961 had a fatal accident, with Wolfgang von Trips and fourteen spectators dying near the Parabolica. Despite the fact that the bankings were not involved in that accident, F1 never raced on the oval again (except in the film Grand Prix made in 1966). The 1000 km Monza staged the last event on the banking in 1969. Various 'safety' measures were introduced in subsequent years with additional chicanes and run off areas.

Having slipped away from the ruthless ( but fair  Roll Eyes ) instructors at this remote Waza training facility in the wilds of the South West, I was able to pick up a Wi Fi connection on my laptop during a short refreshment break.
I used the time to write this rather than suck the dew off of the coarse moorland grasses.

If I can avoid any further "enjoyable" beatings ( the encouraging words of sensei Stikki Wakkiassi ) and eat enough grass to sustain my finely tuned athletic body, I will be behind my wheel and ready to serve her again for these races.

Amongst the other wonderful things we have endured enjoyed here are some intriguing lectures, with content from our ninja spies, about our opponents for the forthcoming seasons and their weaknesses.

When I have a little more time,  and when I discover how to upload the photographic evidence of those desperate to emulate the ways of the Wazas I shall do so. Undecided

HER!

Undecided

HAPPY BIRTHDAY HRISTO
SHE has graciously allowed H to have the evening off in recognition of his contribution to the WAZA cause.  Wink

Which sadly leaves the rest of us to try and cover for his absence Undecided
