Mmmm,  made it mid-race and went for the pitstop.
The guys were ready but where ever I parked the car they didn't do anything. So just quit after pressing every button in 2 minutes time
I probably did something wrong .
Another stupid question... Did you switched off your engine when the pit list appeared? If you didn't, the pit crew doesn't start the pit stop.
Errrrr... I never switch my engine off when pitting and my pitcrew serviced as they should.

Probably it's what Mike said about overshooting. It helps when you 'call' your pitcrew in advance (GTR2 has this feature, GTL does not).

.. and Manteos, we cannot be all as good as you are..

I made a right spheroids of that... HAd forgotten that I was actually faster in the Vette, and took the TransAm.
Setup was pilchards, back end was like on ice. Either lost it myself but think I  was helped into a half spin at T1, and got into someone's way Stig? perhaps?
took some damage, and assumed that was why the car was so awefull so took the earliest stop I could, and took 95 secs repair, only to find that it was just the setup, also forgot to change the fuel preset from 13 laps to max,
so had to take a second stop for fuel. Gamely battled on trying to master the setup and got a PB !
was hard to be consistent though, and had no traction out of corners, ah well good bit'o fun.

Really enjoyed that event despite my own traumas ! It felt like so many of the endurance races i watch, where even if you have problems or have to pit etc its still worth plugging on to get some points or position as others will have their own incidents.

We should start calling this place the bunker as everyone was obviously once again sandbagging  Roll Eyes and miraculously found extra time in the qually sesh. Cheesy

Qualied a disapointing 9th despite a mid 35 time Tongue

Had a great start in the race and made up several places. Got past a few more in the early laps, enjoying some good close action. Then ran 6th? for a long while until a group of bustling 4 cars caught me when i got a bit out of shape. Then it seemed like mayhem argy bargy for the next few laps with some contact and people running wide. For some reason known only to him, Dan decided to stop or slow on the racing line up the hill and i hit him full throttle, smashing my suspension and body damage.  Sad No idea why?
Car still felt okay and made my stop a few laps later. Bad idea...accepted the replace suspension tab and it cost me 2-3minutes in the pits  taz Not only that, i had been a dumb schmuck and not read the race announcement properly so didnt have enough or put enough fuel in the car Hit with a wet fish  so i exited the pits knowing i had to stop again.
So i did 10mins later and stupidly only put another 10mins in  Roll Eyes ..so made a 3rd blinking stop!!   stupid
Despite all that, i plugged on and still finished 9th ! Grin  and had 5th fastest race lap i think at the end so could have had a much better finish without the aggro.

Superb track and good mix of evenly matched cars  thumbup1

That was a great race, someone to battle with virtually all race. Grin  I was a bit dissappointed with my qually time as I had managed 1.35s in testing, so had to start near the back. Made up several places in the first few laps but then contrived to lose most of them again with some fierce dicing amongst the midfield pack. Had some splendid racing with Clive, FMG & several others until they all pitted early & left me alone for a few laps.

After my stop, i rejoined 5th just behind Clive with Ade not too far behind, but made a mistake at the final turn & lost several seconds & the place to Ade. We all caught up with FMG & had many furious laps until Ade got away & FMG spun off. The last 7-8 laps I was trying to find a way past Clive but the Corvette was quicker on the straight & the twisty section where I was quicker, there was no way through. With a lap to go Clive made a mistake & I tried to take advantage but gave it a bit too much wellie & got very crossed up & lost lots of ground. But happy with 5th, better than I expected after qually!  Cool

Congrats to Mike, Manteos & Ade. thumbup2

Won't be able to make next week, so cya all at Silverstone. thumbup1

FullMetalGasket in the black Z06 was drifting like a man possessed. It was awesome to watch. Once I made my way through, I simply put my head down to close out the deal.

Glad you enjoyed it Mike  Grin
I hate understeery cars and that combined with taking no tyres on my stop and an entire race of opposite lock was certainly making the 'Vette fun by the end of the race  wub

Amusingly there were some points where dispite braking for tricky corners at large angles I was still outbraking people to quite some degree (In fact I had to bin it a few laps before I fell out to avoid Clive who braked extra early on the final corner exiting the valley. Think he'd made a mistake) I was struggling to put the power back down again on the exits though!

All very annoying as for about 3 laps it looked like I may even pull off 3rd until then, nevermind.
These things happen in racing  Smiley

Really looking forward to the next race if they continue like this  Grin

If you overshoot the pit, the crew will not service you (even if you back up). You must complete another circuit and try again. I slow to pit very early so I don't have a chance to overshoot.

Yep, I overshot the pit. Thanks for clearing that out.

Errrrr... I never switch my engine off when pitting and my pitcrew serviced as they should.
Indeed, same for me .  It always worked for me.

.............. before I fell out to avoid Clive who braked extra early on the final corner exiting the valley. Think he'd made a mistake)

Quite so.   Grin

I got in a bit of a tankslapper and had to ease off or go off.  I didn't feel at all at home in the race and my L76 seemed too lightly attached to the tarmac for any seriously fast lapping.  I chose the black one because its Firestone rubber would get me to the finish without a change.  Wasn't sure about the others.

I too was bemused at the Full Waza sideways style.

I had a couple of half spins that messed up my race but 4th is probably about all I could hope for.

For SBRC it would have been better to be 5th with Lorenzo up ahead of me somewhere.  Any idea where the lad got to?

Grats to Daan for finishing (I think) and thus helping the cause, and grats to Lorenzo for his pole position and FL.

We just have to work on getting our fast lads to the finish.  Grin

Well done to Mike, Manteos and Ade.

Some great racing with Geoffers, Ade, Tim and the usual crew.

These enduro races (at least that's how it felt like) tend to generate some 'Fog of War' so I thought I might give this a go (again):

Unofficial LapChart

Report from the back of the grid:
After qualifying just before the Doctor's Car, I managed to circumvent the melee with several cars spinning.
After the dust was settled I had some nice racing with Legzy and Mad Matt who - due to the track layout - could not pass me at once so I could annoy race them for a few laps.
But alas.. soon they disappeared at the horizon and remembered an intersting read from the GPL section about Zen en 'Getting into the Zone'.
Unfortunately my front right tire was not in the Zone and quite overheating after two laps.
Decided to stick with my Herr Doktor Ullrich pitstop plan and tried to ignore my excessive tire wear.
Blinking fuel lights and a nearly entirely worn tire brought me back to reality and in a last moment panic decision I literally fell from the hill over the grass into the pits.
Fortunately me teamie woke the pitcrew with his earlier pitstop (I guess recruiting your pitcrew during the Leidens Ontzet festivities with lots of rum and cheap whisky does not help) and begrudged they went to work.
Won some places but my fellow races were 'somewhat' quicker so lost advantage after a few laps.
At the end of the race I was fortunate to finish 8th because my decision to come in earlier left me with only 1 liter ( .3 gallon (?)) left in the tank.

Congrats to Mike and Manteos for showing such speed and car control.
Congrats also to my teammate for your race pace. Quite fast I must admit.

Next week I cannot attend because of work. Have a good race!

Thanks for the lap chart Alex.  thumbup1

Looks as though Mike's pit stop was 20sec faster than mine.

I shall have to send my pit crew on a training course.

If you click on the track download link for this race Clive & then scroll up half an inch... I think you'll find the download you need Wink

p.s. The servers were all up & running (even if it was the race password Lips Sealed), so there must have been a blip or something that dropped the link to lobby. Restarted them now so should be fine again.

Just noticed i still earned 12 points for this race so proves its worth plugging on to the end in enduros!  Smiley

I very nearly quit when my car got almost totalled in an unnecessary incident but endurance throws up all sorts of challenges to different people...mines pitstops  Roll Eyes laugh  Shame i was robbed of a good battle in the top 6 but had fun all the same racing to the end including taking out nearly 36secs of Alex's time ahead of me...until i had to make a 3rd splash and dash  Embarrassed
