Good evening Ladies and Gentlemen, what is your desire?
Hello Ladies and Gentlemen... explosions and fire!
Good evening Ladies and Gentlemen, are you prepared to Rock?
Hello Ladies and Gentlemen... Let's Rock!

Welcome one and all the Season 20 running of the Amatures trophy for lunatics fans of the nippy 1965 mod cars.
The season opener will be at Mosport and will hopefully be closely fought but clean to set the scene for the rest of the championship ( I want an easy intro Wink )
Hopefully the chassis allocations will have worked out well and will provide us with a good fight to the end - Best of luck everyone  Cool
No bonus points will given for guessing the theme to this seasons passwords, but the first person to do so can claim their place as our resident clever clogs  Wink

Race List = IGOR
Server = UKGPL_T7_2
IP address = 62.149.202.168
Race date = 12-10-2010
Time = 21:00 UK time
Track = Mosport 67
Variant = 65F1
Damage Model = PRO
Qualifying time = 35 minutes. Don't start until 30 mins left on clock to allow everyone to join.
Race length = 50 minutes (laps 34)
Password: see above

65 Patch: The 2.02 Release of the 65mod can be used.

Driver lists can be found on the championship standings page
The track can be downloaded from : original papy track
Add-on’s available at : http://srmz.net/index.php?showtopic=2168  or 3099

Please be in IGOR UKGPL chatroom by 8:50 pm UK Time

Reserve drivers should not join the server(s) until there are only 30 minutes of qualifying left. Please restrict chat to pit messages. Moderating will be by reported incidents only, however the moderators reserve the right to review any incident with a particular emphasis on lap one. The aim is to review the race the following weekend so incident reports should be submitted within five days of the race (ie the following Friday). We're hopeful most incidents can be resolved amicably and recommend a days deep breath with a replay review before posting. A sorry in the forum won't be taken as an automatic admission of guilt by the moderators.
The race will be run on PRO Damage.

NOTE: Please ensure you join the correct server, due to the way we import if you start the race on the wrong server your result will not count.

Chassis assignments can be found HERE but are as follows for easy reference:

To give drivers some free choice in the chassis they drive for the season we have split the cars into groups based on average performance and split the drivers into groups based on average ability. The chassis numbers for Amateurs are as follows:

CHASSIS GROUPS
1 - Lotus, Ferrari
2 - BRM, Honda
3 - BT11
4 - Cooper
5 - BT7

Each driver has been given a seeding number and must pick a chassis with either an equal number or higher number but not a lower number. For example, if a driver is given a seeding of 2, he must pick one of the cars in group 2 (BRM or Honda) but if he would prefer to drive either the BT11, Cooper or BT7 he may do so. This means that a driver given a seeding of 1 can pick any chassis he prefers.

**NOTE**
Whichever chassis a driver begins race 1 with is the chassis he must use for the remainder of the season unless a change has been agreed with the moderator.

The track was designed and built in the late 1950s, and held its first major race in 1961, the Player's 200, a sports car race bringing drivers from the world over to rural Ontario. Stirling Moss won the event in a Lotus 19. The proposed hairpin was expanded into two discrete corners, to be of greater challenge to the drivers and more interesting for the spectators, at his suggestion, and is named Moss Corner in his honour. This is a source of lingering confusion as many people call the track Mossport. It has had a succession of owners since the original public company created to build the track. Mosport achieved acclaim though a series of international sports car races under the title "Canadian Grand Prix" normally reserved for Formula 1 races. F1's Grand Prix of Canada remained at the track until 1977.
Unlike many historic motorsport venues, Mosport's track layout has remained mostly unchanged from its original form.

Looks like I will miss this opening round guys, so someone else will have to stand on the top step of the podium, I'm sure you can agree amicably amongst yourselves.  Roll Eyes

I will be away on business for most of next week  Undecided, just cannot make the customers understand that there are some things more important than completion dates for their multi-million pound project!!!!

Nicky, not trying to offend you, but as I said before when you went to a lower division (2 seasons ago I think), you are far beyond the level of Novices and it seems improper to me that you go to race there (again). Results proved it last time. Don't you want to keep going up in your development as a driver? In the same way we could have half the Amateurs drivers go to Novices and drive Coopers or BT7s, but would it be reasonable?

Nicky isn't in Novs either this season.  At risk of speaking for him, I guess he doesn't wish to do either 65 option this time.

Hm, my bad then, I was under the impression he went to Novices. Sorry, Nicky.

BRM if you prefer more power or Lotus if you prefer better handling. I never liked the 65 Ferrari, but some say it has both.  Roll Eyes

Nicky, I'm sorry to hear that you are not contesting the 65's. I feel partially guilty after causing your exit at Watkins Glen  hang

I have had seasons in the past where I felt like my car was a magnet, with DNF's for race after race. But, that sort of luck cannot continue forever and I know that you are fast enough to be in the leading pack for just about any race.

I hope you think again and enter the 65 races in the Ams. Wink

True, true, the quality and close proximity of racing with 65 cars far outweight the occasional negative outcomes. Besides, we have rules to punish the guilty and I do believe UKGPL to be the fairest (or most fair?) league when it comes to making objective judgment and handing out penalties.
