Good race for me, enjoyed that from start to finish
Qualied a fine 4th place in the bella macchina Ferrari
showing some of the big engined american beasts who's boss
Race start went well though i had a very hard time keeping all the big block cars from steaming past me left right and centre, not to mention Legzys yella-fezza poking its nose where it shouldnt !
After several laps the pace settled a bit and i could concentrate on chasing manteos ahead. We enjoyed a good long scrap for ages until the pit stops at mid race distance.
We also had an errant L72 that kept passing us, falling off, passing us...you get the drift
Pitstop went reasonably well, i thought i had been clever enough to gain some time on the big block boys ahead by not needing any new tyres, just fuel but still they had too much advantage and Matt actually gained ground on me
Didnt help my Italian-swiss mechanics just stared at the car for many seconds before filling her up
Manteos swiftly exited the race after the pits, shame, but CLive filled his boots quickly and put me under more pressure than i wanted for last 7 laps or so. But other than some scary moments lapping Prib and losing my rhythm a bit, i got it back under control and kept a good gap pulled out on clive to romp home 6th. Not bad considering 3 of the cars ahead were the L72....grrr.
My only gripe of the night is why the heck were the L72s allowed in the race?
It makes no sense to allow any car to have such a dominant edge over the rest of the field. As soon as its realised a car has that advantage it should be pulled from the list before race night. Tough but fair ! we want close racing not someone disapearing into the sunset.
It would be fairer if they were made to use that same car at whatever the next round is !!...preferably twisty
Anyway, congrats to Lorenzo and the podium, good racing
