It was probably turned off for the another rather excellent Race'07 event! Cool

Going to try and make this race fellas Cheesy. I have a feeling that Paulo and I will be very close together Wink You going to take L76 Vette Paulo? I just did some practice with it.. Not too bad there.. Lap times all around 2:44, but still 4 seconds down from the L72 Vette Sad..

I don't know why they keep messing with these lesser sims.  Roll Eyes

Did some practice last night and managed a 2:41 in the L76 which was hauled over from Atlanta and given a wipe over with an oily rag.  Just for reference I gave the L72 a blast and managed 2:36 so I guess that I'm not going to see much of the action at the front.

Not sure yet Navin, I will have time to decide only when I join the server tonight. But I have an eye at the Falcon, to be honest.  Smiley

Yes Clive, here probably the L72 will eat alive all the pack, but I guess it will be difficult to manage the brakes till the end for everybody. So a pulled brake can cause a lot of troubles during the race, if you haven't the time to make the brakes colder. I've seen temperatures on my xd near 850° (things for formula 1!!!), and at these temperatures the brakes go in fade, and your car goes surely wide if you won't be careful on the pression of the brake pedal.

However it's a typycal track for the L72 and its brutal Engine, but if it's not driven properly that car can become your worse enemy!
About me, I guess I'll be in the L76 Roadster even this time, it lose 10-15 km/h on the straights, but has good brakes and good handling.
FOrd Falcon Weslake it's funny, but it burns the brakes as the Z06, I was close to a 2.39 in it, but no chance to see the checkered flag with these cars.

2.40 at the moment for me, I hope it will be a close race! Cu guys!

I'll be in a Falcon Weslake. I can't deny the motor in that car, but like Manteos said, you have to hang on for dear life though.

The Mustang is (theoretically) slower than the other cars, so I will be in it.
I believe I will not make you company this time Navin.
As I usually suck in P&G, I decided to use the cars that 99% of people don't chose.  Cheesy
See you later.  Smiley

The other car that may do well here is the Ford Mustang AATC Gr5 #01. It's got a big lump under the hood.

Well I crossed the line in 7th position, got the message to say that the race was over and then another to say that I had lost connection to the server.

What said server will make of it will be interesting as I expect that the server lost me a bit earlier than when my game ended.

I had one of them big lumps under my bonnet. It probably was slightly slower than Vette I could have used
but I rather like the Aussie beast. Had some good chases early on, then had a race to T1 with Stig as he came
out of the pits, he won. I could only keep up with acrobatic slides which I can;t do lap after lap, so he pulled away
for a good 4th.

p.s As my admin connection dropped as I was zipping the replay, I asume Mike is now doing the results   Cheesy

EDIT: I find if I call my pit crew "kinky sluts" they hit me with their handbags

The expectations weren't high, nevertheless, race was running quite fine, top 10 place and a nice fun scrapp with Navin and Clive, a bit later, Legzy came near me and I thought we would have a nice duel for the old days, but he was clearly faster and went away.
Now the drama,  eek first, apologies for the 'you kinky slut' message, I just missed the preset key that says 'pit in'  lol
Went to pits, I started the race with the super-hiper-extra hard tires, so I just asked for fuel.
Waited and waited and waited and cars coming after me and exiting before me and waiting and the idiot of the crew, nothing! Just the guy in front watching whatever he watchs and the guy behind with the fuel pipe next to the car and by then, I was alone in the pits and a few spider nets coming together in the car dashboard and my beard growing....and then, I realized that the idiot was me.  w00t
Once again, I forgot to shut off the engine.  whistling
Lost more than 3 minutes there playing idiot. Came back on track dead last and remain there untill the end.
The end.

Congrats to podium and to all that didn't were distracted.

Cheers

P.S. I had lots of fun doing that parabolica to the right, sideways forever. Smiley

Good race for me, enjoyed that from start to finish  Smiley

Qualied a fine 4th place in the bella macchina Ferrari  wub showing some of the big engined american beasts who's boss  Wink

Race start went well though i had a very hard time keeping all the big block cars from steaming past me left right and centre, not to mention Legzys yella-fezza poking its nose where it shouldnt !

After several laps the pace settled a bit and i could concentrate on chasing manteos ahead. We enjoyed a good long scrap for ages until the pit stops at mid race distance.    We also had an errant L72 that kept passing us, falling off, passing us...you get the drift  Roll Eyes

Pitstop went reasonably well, i thought i had been clever enough to gain some time on the big block boys ahead by not needing any new tyres, just fuel but still they had too much advantage and Matt actually gained ground on me  Huh Didnt help my Italian-swiss mechanics just stared at the car for many seconds before filling her up  Roll Eyes

Manteos swiftly exited the race after the pits, shame, but CLive filled his boots quickly and put me under more pressure than i wanted for last 7 laps or so. But other than some scary moments lapping Prib and losing my rhythm a bit, i got it back under control and kept a good gap pulled out on clive to romp home 6th. Not bad considering 3 of the cars ahead were the L72....grrr.

My only gripe of the night is why the heck were the L72s allowed in the race?  Huh It makes no sense to allow any car to have such a dominant edge over the rest of the field. As soon as its realised a car has that advantage it should be pulled from the list before race night. Tough but fair ! we want close racing not someone disapearing into the sunset.  hammer It would be fairer if they were made to use that same car at whatever the next round is !!...preferably twisty  devil

Anyway, congrats to Lorenzo and the podium, good racing  thumbup1

Oh I didn't change tyres either MJ, my fronts were harder than the rears, and the car was becoming easier to drive
as the fronts wore into the red, while the rears wore slightly less. Stop was 50secs for fuel, including arrow
keys to say no tyres please.

It put you 12th CLive, maybe Mike will want to move you.
