UKGPL Season 20 (2010-2011) Spec Challenge - East London - Oct 31

Good fun last night, especially race 1 Where I had the impossible task of trying to catch Clive 

Oddly I ran significantly different setups for each of the cars, BRM was less downforce and softer suspension - While in the Ferrari I had a fair amount of downforce and harder suspension with identical gearing - barring the slightly shorter final drive (Fez revs higher).
I actually think the only place the extra downforce was handy was at the Sweep where I could carry more speed, maybe at Potters Pass too but the 2 straights evened the advantage out again there.
Based on my laptimes compared with Evil's I recon I was running too much downforce in race 2 - The Brm was half a second quicker in my hands while Evil was throwing the Fezza about .3 faster than me.....

Good fun enjoyable races though, it takes a while to adapt to the style needed for these monsters though

I had 10 deg front wing and 11.5 rear on the fez

slightly less on the BRM in an attempt to coax some speed out of the beast.

Good fun those races; well, the last race was fun but on the first race my internet had other ideas. It's a shame the laptop I use is so atrocious at running Grand Prix Legends. To get a smooth frame rate for the 69mod, I had to run in a 640x480 resolution. Added to the lack of practice I was miles off the pace, but it was good fun battling with Steve and Bill. I've always been a touch slow racing the 69 cars. Still, finished the race in 6th but the server dropped me after my laptop and one of its moments.

If I can scrounge an extra desk from somewhere I am very tempted to return to my trusty desktop computer. I'll just have to find the time to retrieve it from my old house  .

Do we also get a server replay in the archive, or is it not contemplated for spec challenge races?

Replays for E London posted in the usual place. Didn't get the Imola replays posted as my internet was down.

By the way, Grats to the winners and to the podium finishers, which I forgot in my previous post. Reality is you are so much out of my league I kind of forget you are there, more than just landscape decoration for the first half a lap!
