Couple of good races, with Jonathan in one race & Nathan in the other. Racing bumper to bumper with both of them & sometimes side by side for ages! Don't think we had one rub either Undecided

Fantastic driving both gents Cool

Foolishly took the Roadster in race one and ended up getting swamped by and then stuck behind the Cup cars. Ended up stuck in a big pack and took a battering after we ended up four abreast. Then ended up squeezed in behind Steve Claeys and turned him round, so I waited and let him back past. Then on the last lap he was a bit slow out of the penultimate corner and left the door open so I duly stuck my nose in, but unfortunately turned him round, ended up stuck behind his turned car and losing a load of places. Still managed to be the first Roadster home!

Second race I switched to the Cup car. Didn't like it as much - too many gears making it fussy in some of the bends and not as much steering feel, but found it much easier to race people and had some good tussles with Blunder and Darren (even if the latter appeared to have some aero damage slowing him down, and we ended up rubbing door handles as I passed round the outside of turn 1).

These cars are kind of fun to race but they're the wrong side of the power to grip ratio for my tastes - you inevitably end up with contact to effect a pass, unless you operate a 'no defensive lines' policy. Undecided

Yeah I stupidly put a wheel off into the dirt while approaching turn 3.  This sent me head first into the wall.  Shocked  Surprisingly the car still felt good to drive but from then on I was over a second a lap slower.  The Aero/cooling damage really made a big difference.  Not only was my acceleration affected, my new lower top speed meant I was now a sitting duck down the straights.

Regarding the 'pass around the outside of T1'...  It's funny I don't quite remember it the same way.  Wink  Yes we rubbed door handles heading into the braking zone for T1 (which was my fault for drifting slightly left while under braking - sorry  Embarrassed ).  But, I think the slight nudge up my rear, which pushed me too deep into the corner, helped your cause no end...   Kiss

Both races were great fun.  Race 1 finished with James H pipping me to 3rd by only 0.01 seconds....  Two more metres and I would have had you. Wink

Race 2 was full of highlights...  Loads of overtaking...  However the real highlight was Mr Oily (a.k.a. dirty git) deliberately trying to take me out down the s/f straight, only to spin himself.  lol  Serves you right Wink

Thanks again for hosting another memorable evening of racing.  See you next week providing it isn't at Lime Rock. Wink
