Super, super fun. Great racing with Don, Ross & Jay until a little <ahem> over-enthusiasm broke the party up. Tried to hunt down Sharky at the end but I think I was a bit too nice

That was epic! Was well happy with a PB in qually - would have nice to dip into the 1:08s but I was chuffed with the time I set. The start was pretty clean from what I saw - the spotter was invaluable for me! Had a good few laps catching/passing/defending with Paul, although I was mindful of Dave catching us up. After Dave's disco Paul dropped back a bit, and I set about reeling Purds in. The gap was slowly coming down, but with a "5 laps left" message, I pitted earlier than him, had a solid stop - and when I came out I was all alone really ... apart from Ross keeping me company for the last however many laps. Bah was having a good time trying to catch Adam and Paul R when my graphics froze. Unlucky Dave - would have been fun 30-40 min sprint would be ace in these I think.

Tried to hunt down Sharky at the end but I think I was a bit too nice You definately were Pops. I was making my own amusement in the last 10 laps as I was so bored. If you'd gone up the inside I would not have stopped you. The first 5 laps were awesome. Never seen so many 3 abreasts and close racing, but that soon dissappeared and was left with 20-25 laps of driving a really slow car at a really fast track, not a great combo I'm afraid. I have to say I actually didn't mind the car, although I think Pops screwed me over telling me to take the Roadster as it seemed a totally unchuckable , very hard to get sideways and slower in general to everyone else , but that may have been my driving. LOL. Well I'm sure most of it was really, but have to get my excuses in! Do that car on a club circuit and I think it would be quite good fun though, so I'm willing to try it again. The F1 race afterwards. OMG! ROCKIN! Having not tried the car before joining the server, didn't quite know what to expect, but absolutely loved the car, definatley my sort of thing. Don't like all the setup options, far too many for this to be a hobby for goodness sake, gonna have to rely on other people I think. But the first sector at Silverstone is just incredible. A slight lift for T1, a slight lift for T2 and massive change in direction for T3 and T4 going down a couple of gears, just incredible. We obviously all need a fair bit of practice in the Williams, but I'm up for it.

When I got in form work, the Mazda race was full So I went over to warm up for the F1. Qualified 5th and got a good start. Very good first lap from everyone and I had a chance to stay with Iain, until I outbraked myself and ran off on lap 2 dropping behind Shark and Purds. Over the next few laps, both of them had spins, and I was chasing Paul. Who also had a spin, so I was back in 4th. After that it seemed to be who wants to spin the most, passed Adam when he was playing in the grass and then Iain spun nearly into the pitlane! Now 2nd! Got held up badly by a backmarker and lost the place to Adam, who went off at Becketts a couple of laps later, then I was in a nice little gap, and noticed the gap to the leader was coming down. I wouldn't have caught him normally, but I kept pressing on and passed him for the lead when he spun at the end of lap 17, so only 1 lap to do and a win! Woohoo! We all need practice with this car, you can't relax for a moment with it or it'll have you off. Awesome!

Wow! The MX5 is a seriously fun car to race.. Had a great battle early on with Adam M and Ian (great racing guys, clean and fair) until a "Network Device Error" chucked me out of the race. This has happened only a couple of times since joining iRacing and I'm completely stumped as to what the problem could be... Is it my internet connection, my router, my network card? Anyway, once iRacing finally let be rejoin and I served my tow I set about working my way back up the field from 15th... I reached 10th and with a few laps to go I could see Pops and Sharky battling ahead. I pushed really hard to catch them, but I just ran out of laps... Great fun!!! A big thank you goes to Oily for arranging this... If you are planning on anymore MX5 races give me a shout and I'll be there.... Congrats to Adam M, Ian and Adam P for finishing on the podium...

Disappointing evening for me, couldn't get on the MX-5 race as it went full while I was joining What is really frustrating is people who joined and then never raced, iRacing doesn't free up the slot so that grid spot gets wasted while others are sat out unable to join. Then in the F1 race got taken out on L1 by someone driving across the track rejoining after a spin I know the cars close gaps very rapidly but there is always the Relative Positions Pit Box thing to tell you someone is coming and it would be polite to wait The Williams is properly mental though but I'm not sure how good it is for racing, pretty true to real life. If the car in front doesn't make a mistake it's pretty much follow my leader.

Thanks guys - that was one of the most enjoyable night's racing I've had in a long time, those opening laps in the Mazda were most amusing, wouldn't it be great if we could secure that kind of turnout week in week out!? Anyway report tomorrow and don't worry, we'll be running something a little more challenging for the Mazdas next week Looks like the import script needs updating following the new build so the results will have to wait a little - Dave if you'd be so kind when you get a moment .

If the car in front doesn't make a mistake it's pretty much follow my leader. Sorry, that was me guilty on both counts! Firstly I joined the Mazda server with every intention of racing but domestic complications got in the way. Then I was just back from those complications in time for one flying lap in the Williams before the race. I was on the back of the grid and followed the pack for the first half lap. When the cars just ahead of me tripped each other up I got a run on Ross and we were side by side through Abbey. A warp contact had me spinning. No excuses really, I should have checked my Relative box but I thought I was the last car on track. I didn't realise but some must have started from pit lane??

I think it was only me, I had tried a few practice starts and either bogged down badly of spun out. I thought I would be a danger to others so took what I hoped was the safe route I'll remember to join the server a bit earlier next week to bagsy a spot.

Really really good night of racing.... Was pondering whether or not to bother with the Mazda... another slow car you have to eeek every bit of speed out but that was unfair in hindsight Somehow got 3rd in quali and had a solid two thirds of the race.... but I remembered I had replaced the keybind for Select with the Pit Limiter for the Williams F1 the nite before ...so couldn't avoid taking the default fuel setting and a fresh set of tyres.... plus I also got sideways across the grass at Brooklands and got a black flag to slow down on my in-lap......... so all-in-all losing me around 10-14 secs! ! Adam P was 5 secs behind and was 12 secs in front after... I had a good battle with Paul R before spinning and settled for 6th! F1...was just mental.... had to quit half way through, though, due to gf issues but thats enough story Great combo Oily
