Paulo must have changed tires as he was a further 15+ seconds back after the pit sequence.

I didn't Mike. This time I turned the engine off, but as I said before, the key assigned for pit request isn't working, tried to change it more than once without success, therefore, the extra time I lost in pits, was waiting for crew to exit the garage and begin to work.

As for the race, it was very enjoyable with Mike untill the pit stops, we had a nice battle, we even had trade paints, but in a safe way.  Smiley
I believe we were driving at the edge, however, I was feeling plenty of safe driving due to a brilliant driving from Mike.

When I exit the pits, I was in 6th, after Manteos made his pit stop, I was right behind Mike and 8 seconds down to Manteos. Mike and I didn't change the tires, so I had an extra care when trying to pass him, specialy entering corners. 10 laps untill the end and 7.4 seconds down now to Manteos, last two laps were under 1 second gap, but I would need at least another lap to grab the lead...I guess...
Manteos never done a mistake and it paid off. Congrats for your win, well deserved.
Congrats Mike, nicely driven that Falcon.
Well done to all finishers.

Cheers

Don't know what the rest of you were up to because I was racing Ade.  Even when I couldn't see him I knew that I was still racing Ade.

And the ratbag nailed me on the last poxy lap!  taz

It was a brilliant race.

I was third at the start but after a while made a mistake at Club, which allowed Ade and Manteos to slip through.  We were still close on lap 16 when Ade went wide at Club and I was able to repass him.  He pitted and I did likewise on the following lap.

It appeared to me that his tyres were shot just before he pitted, so I was hoping that his second set would be likewise at the end of the race.

BTW Ade, your brake light come on at the most unlikely places.  Perhaps you could do with some deadband or more of it?

Anyway, I was about 10 seconds up the road when we had both pitted and he gradually reeled me in.

I went wide at Copse and he passed me again.  Worse still was that when I looked to see how much further we had to go I found that we were on the last lap.

Ade repeated his previous error at Club and I was right with him at Abbey.

The result of which was that I gave him an almighty thump up the rear at Woodcote in my efforts to get past.  Thankfully he held the lurid slide that ensued.

Good fun and the good news is that I stay in the Orange group for the next round and Ade will be Yellow.

That'll teach the blighter!

Big congrats to Manteos for an amazing win just holding off that big block Vette Smiley. And congrats to both Paulo and Mike for their solid podium spots Wink.

I had a great time battling for a lot of the race. Mostly with FMG which was a great close battle Wink but also had some nice dices with API and Legzy.Lots of clean hard fought racing Grin A pleasure to be racing with you chaps Cheesy And thank you Mike for all your efforts in putting the races together Cool

That was a great battle  Grin
Despite racing very close for much of the duration I don't think we even traded any paint did we? Was a very gentlemanly battle, we'd pass each other and then fall of the track again to allow each other to re-pass  Wink
Shame you span as Paulo was lapping you, I think we'd still have been pretty close by the end  Smiley

Was also interesting to compare styles, I seemed to have much more oversteer than you did - sometimes that appeared an advantage, others not

Congrats to the podium  angel

Hi all Smiley

Very nice race yesterday for me! In qualif I had to take the feeling with the car and the track, and the first attempts were very bad... I started 6th but I knew that the race was long, and I had the time to understand how to drive with the Fezza here.

During the first laps I wan't able to keep the pace of the guys in front, and in 9-10 laps I was at 10 seconds by the leader, tasting the amazing duel between Clive and Ade. After some laps I started to close the gap, and with a bit of lucky, cause a double mistake by Clive and Ade, I took the 3rd place, starting to gain some tenth in every lap by Paulo and Mike.
They pitted before than me of about3-4 laps, and I had the chance to make my last laps alone and pushing a bit more, trying to gain as much as possible before the pit.
At the pit started the comic movie Smiley. I arrived slowly in the pit lane, but on the left there was a very small place to overtake the cars that were doing their pits, and my car got stucked on the "step" leaving me with half car suspended in the air. Fortunately I managed to bring it back with the reverse gear, and after wasting 8-10 seconds I managed to reach my mechanics, but I suppose to have wasted all the advantage in fuel strategy with that manouvre.
In fact Mike was coser than I expect, but with weared tyres, he could only keep my pace without gaining time, and losing a couple of tenth per lap. The trouble was Paulo! He was coming back as a fury, and I thought he was on new tyres cause of his pace, but as he said he didn't changed it, so his pace was even more terrifying!
He was gaining on me 1 second per lap, and with 5 laps to go he was under the 5 seconds of distance by me, so I expected a "challenged" last lap. Fortunately a slight mistake of Paulo at only 2 laps to go, gave me another 6-7 tenth of seconds more, and leaved no chances for Paulo to try an attack, and close the gap before the third sector of last lap.
That was a really challanged race, and a lot of people were in a close gap, especially in qualif, but even in race. It's really good to see the frist five cars in less than 10 seconds by the leader before the pit. Great work Mike Smiley, and many congrats for your pace with the Falcon... fantastic! Grats to Paulo that made me sweat a lot, making me become an "accountant" for the last 10 laps Cheesy.

Thanks to all the people who joined the race. I will have to jump the next cause my Italian P&G champ will restart on the next Thursday. I'll see you in 2 weeks.
Bye bye Smiley

I'd say no we never did trade any paint Cool. And Yes we had very very different setups that for sure. I realized that my setup was way to tight especially for a long run. I could see that your car was much more loose and you were really killing me in some of the turns. But like you said some place's I had some advantage as my tight set really put the power down well. Was very interesting given we had the same car with very contrasting setups. Even with that difference we ran our best lap times within .013!! Shocked.. Amazing! I think if we melded ours setups we might just have the perfect set Grin

Just remembered a great few laps I had with FMG, best moment being when I managed to hook a Toe, had better brakes & took a good corner... only for him to get straight back past before we reached the next corner & we kept at it!

I did laugh Cool
