Usually enjoy the 906 but it was just awful here for some reason. Totally unpredictable under braking and acceleration all night until eventually I had enough and hit esc. That's it for PnG for me.

That was good fun albeit short and sweet  Smiley  Too many distractions this week meant next to zero practise, only having done 6 laps late last night..not the best prep. Didnt even get a good setup together, just using my mid-ohio one and can see that needed more laps to tune it further.

Had some good scraps along the way until getting a wheel off in the stadium and running wide on the grass which lost me about 10 seconds, but then had some good battling with Spanner for rest of the race. The bugger nipped by me in the penultimate corner when i again went into the corner too fast  Roll Eyes

Not my finest performance in a porker   Embarrassed finished 9th.

Didn't you retire last week? Kiss
Look forward to racing you at Kyalami next week buddy! Wink

I didn't suffer the same issues others seemed too & had a decent showing here. But once GT dropped back, I didn't have anyone to race as I couldn't catch Clive etc ahead. So with a couple of laps to go, decided to hold back & wait for Matt. Enjoyed that last couple of laps mate cheers. Cool

The other highlight of for me of course, was explaining to MJ on TS, that Porka's are all about corner exit speed "Slow in fast out is the way MJ" Grin

Great race with great cars!

Starting from my regular position I had a nice view of the entire filed storming to the first chicane with some mayham going on. The was caught out with cold tires in the third chicane.
Dead last but fortunately found Bill and Geoffers for a nice fight (why slow down Geoffers?). Great pace Bill  euro
Mister G. soon found his pace again and passed me. Then I had a first row view of Geoffers and Bill fighting it out like they were in Brazil fighting for the F1 championship  Shocked
Sadly enough it ended in tears but I must say that the sight of two spinning Porsche's on the straight was just like a scene from Le Mans(R).

Then it was kind of lonely but car/track proved enough challenge to keep on pushing!

I like the enduro stuff with pitstops but this sprint race with prototypes was refreshing..

Hope to see you all again next week (including injured teamie)

First and Foremost : Can a mod type personage please Rename Mr Loynes to "Clive 'Opportunist' Loynes" please  Grin

Suprised myself in getting from 5th on the grid upto 2nd in the first lap! Then slowly got reeled in a beaten up again (Mostly under braking for the chicanes due to the Langheck's extra weight).
Had a battle for 3rd with Truetom that lasted most of the race, he had the early speed advantage while I seemed to get faster as the race progressed (I had to run a harder rear (Yellow spot) as the added rear weight was eating the white spot's in about 6 laps), I'm guessing both Clive and Tom were running the softest compound going all round...

Eventually I'd caught back up with and even re-passed Tom before he snuck back up again, only for Clive to jump me the next straight as he'd snuck up while we battled  cursing
I was deffinatly faster than Clive at that point but was struggling to get by due to his 906E still having better brakes, eventually he made a mistake in the penultimate corner on the final lap - I got along side and as a result 'helped' him into a spin  ninja
As I'm fairly certain you guys race in the idea of it being a 'gentlemans sport' I allowed Clive to repass me before finishing - not 100% I should have though as he wasn't entirely under control at the time.....

Nevermind, was good fun anyway - the Longtail handles sort of like a BRM P83/115  Grin

Joined specificaly for car, this is the one I enjoy driving. Smiley Was close to the top laptimes (a second or two behind per lap is no big dela really whistling ) and managed to get the car moving within 5 seconds after the start. Tongue Was fairly consistent, one or two minor errors which only contributed to more interesting consecutive overtaking with Mr. Muttram / Fully gasketed metal. wacko I gave him a friendly tap once but he skillfuly recovered and side by side action was resumed. Good stuff. Cool Opportunistic persona Clive was edging closer and closer while we slowed eachother down though I for myself was glad that he did as I was granted less pressure and was finaly able to drift safely to the end to the 3rd place. Well done, Clive. Wink

This is why I would join any sim, any day. Driveable(!) car and track worth of its name. Smiley

I can only apologise for some terrible driving from me this evening. Firstly for everyone I caused to spin/crash at the first chicane on lap 1. Then for twice spinning Bill out within a couple of laps. Very sorry.

I was enjoying this car in testing this week, getting down to 2.30, but it just felt horrible tonight.

Once again, apologies. Cya next week.

Our cars seemed to be drawn together last night.  It was me who T-boned you.  Any way I had fun racing you - I seem to brake too early, compared to most other driver and catch people out.  The only pity was  I think the last time Alex pasted me.  I managed to keep the gap at about 7 to 9 secs for a few laps then, scanning my Xd data, I got careless and had a wobble which resulted in a big off and damage.  As a result I steadily dropped further and further back.

In practice I set new PBs and set the final one in Qualifying, which was pleasing.  Made my usual good "clutch" start but had to lift and most people pasted me.  Trying to drive steady until my tyres were warmed up but got caught out with Geoffers spin.  I ran wide in the twisty bit before the pits and Geoffers got by but he then went wide on the second lap and I got by.  Then as Alex said we had a hard battle with me leaving very hard braking as late as I could, Geoffers backed off and fell  in behind me.  (The only advantage of a narrow track with one racing line.)  Luckily we had similar gearing and  coming out of the corners first I was able to accelerate first and keep in front.

Looking forward to next week, although like Tudor I'd prefer GTL with it's fixed 30 sec wait for the start.  The long wait for everyone to get themselves ready to race really winds me up.

Our cars seemed to be drawn together last night.  It was me who T-boned you.

The first collision, you ran wide in the stadium section & I had a tighter line & we sort of had converging lines out of the turn. Not sure whose fault that was, but slowed & waited anyway. Second collision was definitely my fault, I got too close exiting the turn & nudged you into a slide. I totally missed the next chicane after that & got an S/G so drove to the pits & retired.

Wasn't really enjoying it, as i said before the car just didn't handle like it did in offline testing, weird  Huh

I found mine handling differently on-line aswell  Huh
Had to adjust the diff and break balence to try and sort it.
Luckily I managed to learn the track better as practice progressed so knocked some time off my previous PB, wierd though as it felt like there was less grip online..
