Really enjoyed that, chance to actually be involved in some racing Wink

Though i did think i was back at gamerscrib after the first lap, with people falling off all over the place! I guess with the close racing means you need to know whats going on around you all the time. Was undecided what to take and picked the Alfa to be different but have really felt the tyres go away after only a few laps so was a bit apprehensive about the race distance. Early on i had a comfortable gap around but could see people coming up from behind and meant i was going to struggle in the last few laps which i did.

Started in second and thought i was doing quite well but the pressure got to me and ended up dropping back through mistakes and lack of grip into druids and Graham hill.

I struggled adjusting to the touring car mindset!  But bring it on!

A great start to the season last night, with close racing throughout.

Very surprised to nab pole after making some last minute diff adjustment and putting together an almost perfect (for me) lap.

Had a great start and opening lap in race 1 which gave me a little breathing space for a few laps which helped settle the nerves. Pushed a little too much which hurt my tyres and was reeled in by TT. After he'd made a mistake it left me clear and I was able to ease back a little and save my tyres for a steady drive to the flag.

Race 2 was excellent. Had a nice start, but got boxed in by an ai driver going through Graham Hill bend. Tried to muscle my way through on the inside but came off worse endeding up on the grass Roll Eyes. Chased back but had to bail out of a move on Matt at Clearways and went to the gravel putting me last but one. Had a great chase back through and finished about amm off spanner's bumper at the line. Great stuff Cool

I've had a few public server races in WTCC which have been appauling, but I must say the standard I witnessed last night was as close and as competitive and fairly contested as any I've experienced Cool Can't wait till the next round Smiley

Congrats to both podies and all who took part.

What does "reeled in" mean? I don't remember having a contact with your car, so this must be one of those strange english words. Tongue What I do remember was that I was 0,0000000000000000000000000000000000001 sec to late on the brake and went on the grass. Roll Eyes
I see we have only the silly British tracks on the schedule - hope in the future we can have some proper stuff. whistling Had a superb race on public server - 20 laps @ Oschersleben and @ Brno. These cars are fast enough for these tracks, so I hope to race there in the future. Smiley

The series name should give you a bit of a clue!

A totally unexpected result from myself but thoroughly enjoyable nonetheless.

Quallified an ok 9th, especially considering 0.5sec covered the top 10. Got off to a good start as drivers fell off the road in front of me and I found myself in 2nd. Not too much close racing after that but happy to bring it home still in second, albiet with a very worn front left.

Race 2 was much more frenetic. Got up to 3rd again from 7th and I was chasing TT and an AI car. I managed to take advantage of their battle to pass both and take the lead. Kept the gap consistent fro 10 laps before I saw Ade coming through to take TT and then harass me. By this time, with 2 laps to go, my defending had virtually melted my LH front tyre and I couldn't hold off Ade. Happy with 2nd and the overall win though. Smiley

Congrats to winners. Suffice to say, a thumbs up from me for these touring cars.  Grin

CHortle, Really good fun, watched the replay and race 1 start was a bit manic, SBG and I tried
to occupy the same bit of virtual space which put him off. great shame, as race 2 would have been
better with him.

I see. Though I would never say "land the fish". Is this phrase also commonly used? Smiley It's logical, though in my language we would say "catch" or "pull it out". Differencies. Roll Eyes

Catch a fish yes, pull it out (or in) makes sense , but people talk about, "landing a fish" As in
"I landed a huge pike the other day" usually lies, as in most fishing talk  Smiley
Reeling in refers to turning the handle on the reel on your fishing rod to wind in the line
and so = "reel in the fish"
Ok I'll shut up now....
