All members welcome.

Grid/server capacity: 25

Practice: ~19:10 (60 mins)
Race 1 Qualifying: 20:10 (20 mins)
Race 1: 20:30 20 laps, then following shortly afterwards with reverse grid
Race 2: 20 laps

Track: Brands Hatch (Indy)

Cars allowed: Any car from WTCC06 or WTCC07
Time of Day Setting: 14:00
Weather: DRY
Start: STANDING
Tyre wear: Normal
Fuel consumption: Normal

Server: www.simracing.org.uk
Password: see above

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) Driver lists can be found on the championship standings page

Special Notes: The grid procedure for Race 07 events is slightly different from GTL/GTR2. Upon joining the grid, you won't be able to rev your engine until all drivers are present on the grid. Do not attempt to esc back to garage or you will be DQ'd.

Following our test race at Valencia in the Clios and the subsequent feedback, we now have a revised season featuring the same tracks, but using the standard WTCC cars from Race07/GTR Evolution. The format will remain the same; double header sprint races with qualifying for Race 1 and then the first 8 positions from Race 1 being reversed for Race 2.

The practice server will be up immediately following next week's Caterham test race at Silverstone.

Interesting. Didnt tweak too much bt found the bmw quite stable but easy to loose traction on the off camber Huh druids or Graham Hill. Managing 52's.
Surprised to not find the diesels in having tried them in a demo but i guess they were in more recent seasons. Seat is quite twitchy, needs a particular style.

Not sure whether to pick a car and run the season with it, choose a different car for each race or just go for the quickest car at each track. Choices choices.

Which beemer did you try spanner? E90 seemed a bit awkward round here for me, whereas the E46 felt much more at home. The lady Leon was a little quicker for me and I'll be able to pop to the shops on the way home  Smiley

Ok, its was the '07 Priaulx car, E90 i think. Chevies are quite nice if you dont lift, too much understeer trying to turn in off throttle though i noticed after the coast diff is quite high.

Despite the thought of racing saloon cars makes me yawn, i will try and attend at least the first race if i can. Have used up all my good boy tokens with a 3 day beer fest in Berlin, so may be tricky!  Tongue

The track is a bit tight for these cars but it will do. I expect a great race. Cool

Good point.....I'll look into RL conditions (based on BTCC season which this season was originally based on) and try to replicate this. Throwing the curved ball of variable weather might alienate some drivers, so simple and predictable is the way to go methinks.

Edit: One of these days I'll get the knack of inserting quotes to my posts Roll Eyes

From previous races GoldTop variable weather can make for a very interesting session/race, on the other hand the curved ball might encourage drivers like my self to give this a go especially as it will add another dimension to things Smiley part of the appeal of race07/Evo is the realistic weather Cool
