(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) Driver lists can be found on the championship standings page

Special Notes: The grid procedure for Race 07 events is slightly different from GTL/GTR2. Upon joining the grid, you won't be able to rev your engine until all drivers are present on the grid. Do not attempt to esc back to garage or you will be DQ'd.

Wow, judging by the number of replies on this thread, it's not striking up much interest. Undecided

Anybody planning to attend or is Race07 spent here again?

For the record, I hope to be there & have someone to race. It is a cracking track afterall.

Well we managed 8 tonight & what cracking races they were. Very pleased I took part in my 1st Race07 event for a few weeks.

Race two was the best, probably one of the most enjoyable I've had in any sim in 2011 Cool
Scrapping with TT, Picnic & Spanner all the way. Very good chaps.

Even more remarkable when you consider I started practising for this event at about 7:30 laugh

Was struggling to keep the car on the track in race 1, and was a second or more off the pace I needed to
be able to race anyone, so left. Shame, I love Oulton (though MUCH prefer the full layout) and I love
these Race07 touring cars.

Really wasn't quick enough here last night and lucked into the win in the second race  Undecided

Anything I did to my setup seemed to make me slower, in the end I ran a default one supplied by the game. Couldn't really feel any difference between the setups, that last one just seemed to be fastest for me, although in reality still not fast enough Sad

sorry guys i forgot it was 2 races

I forgot to alter the server from last week's single race Evo event and we had to vote through to next race, so apologies if that caught you or anyone else out Apex.

Was quickest in pracci, but couldn't put a lap together in quali. I had trouble all night with oversteer into the chicane (yes oversteer) and kept spinning out. Consequently I never really got to join in the fun which was disappointing. Hats off to TT who managed to prove that the rwd BMW can be right on the money with practice and perseverance. Well done too to Pete and the other podies.

Don't know what to make of this series. As Legzy says, some of the most exciting racing is to be had here and while other leagues are queuing at the door to get in touring car events, we continue to have low turnouts Undecided The sad fact is that in other leagues some of the driving standards are just dreadful in these events and from my experience it's almost impossible to enjoy clean racing as we do here. Let's hope we get a few more at the next round at Knockhill, another great track for these cars and see if we can resurrect this series.

Was able to get to practice around 7pm to make a few laps. Steam games from last week meant I lost all my setups Angry and had to start from scratch. Also, bumps and undulations on this track makes setting suspension really difficult. After getting away from understeer I managed to make things better by making dampers more stiff (stiffened them up ?). Was lucky to get pole and even luckier to stay in front all race 1.

Random grid (too bad you left, Apex, Matt Sad ) placed me in front and I decided it would be fair to start from the back, as would be in correct server set-up. Left everybody through and I must say the second race was much more enjoyable. Most people made mistakes and positions were shifting constantly. Then Legzy came to the front with some seconds lead, got lonely and allowed us through. I did the same a bit later and there was a hit moment as 3 of us were in the mood of getting into hairpin side by side. thumbup2

Low turnout doesn't mean dull racing so I'm all for going on with these cars for fun and with Sport class for more serious racing. Smiley
As we spoke on TS we might consider races just a few laps shorter as these tyres are too soft for this format. 12 laps would have been better last night. Smiley

@Goldtop: oversteering into chicane was probably the result of either braking bias too much to the rear or the rear dampers were too stiff / front dampers too soft. Smiley Am I not wise (even) beyond my years? Tongue That said, one of these days I'll have to try to drive a FW car to see if I'm slower or faster.

Thanks for the tips TT. I softened the rear dampers during pracci and it did seem to help, but this just meant I pushed a bit harder into the chicane with the innevitable consequences  Roll Eyes  I'll have a bit more pracci for Knockhill and try to get my setup right. Might even have a look at changing car.
