Been having a look at automated messaging to promote our league.......

We already have GTR2 Server Manager installed which would work for our GTR2 and PnG servers. Unfortunately a search around revealed that there is no equivalent for Race 07/Evo and I'm not sure that it would work for GTL either

Here's an idea...how about naming all our practice servers "www.simracing.org.uk"   Several leagues have cottoned on to this free publicity, so why shouldn't we? We could obviously still retain the passwords and even the race names for race nights. I suppose the only downside might be that we'd be a little more accessible for spammers etc.

I think we should/need to do it, it just makes it easier to be found/joined.

Needs to be accross the board though I think.

With us racing Clio mod next, would it be an idea to mention Clio mod in server name as well?

Don't see why not, other than it becomes a veeeeeeeeeeery long server name  Smiley

This is the way the Race 07 lobby works.....The mod being used only appears in the list if the person browsing already has that particular mod installed, otherwise it shows up as "unknown" so potentially it would inform those without the mod of what we're racing. However, if they don't have the correct track installed (and we are going to be racing lots of add on tracks) this will also show as "unknown" in the lobby so they still won't be able to join.

Edit: adding Clios to the end makes the name too long to fit.....as I found out after I'd amended all the race announcements Roll Eyes

For the remainder of the season (starting Monday), UKGTR2 will also change to "www.simracing.org.uk"

That only leaves iRacing to complete the re-branding exercise whistling
