The hope is the last to die  Huh

In 1970, Alfa Romeo created an evolution of the GTA Junior 1300, hoping to continue its competition success in the 1300cc class. The car now carried wide wheelarch extensions, 13-inch wide rims and tyres, and a wider track. At the same time, a new model with bigger capacity was created for the new 2000cc class, based on the 1750 GTV model with the same capacity engine (1779 cc), later bored out close to 2 liters (1985 cc) hence the "maggiorata" addition to the GTA initials. The main visual difference can be seen in the four front headlights and revised cockpit. The GTLWorkshop has modeled and reproduced both variations with historical precision and great attention to detail, which together with our brand new physics, produces an amazing driving experience.

This should be a bit better than the Volumetrico Wink

It sounds like the GTLW is getting close to V3.

Having watched the video I can see that the Alfa is actually designed to swap ends at the corners.  Roll Eyes

I think I must be the only one who likes the Alfa! The thing I find odd with P&G is that some of the cars seem to behave differently on some people's PCs to others. Yeh the Alfa is a little tricky but much easier to me than the Porsche 906/8 which is just uncontrollable on the brakes & the IROC which I find almost undriveable. Yet others love these two cars.

Enjoyed both races last night, although I made silly mistakes in both which dropped me well down the field. Also liked the format of two short races. Maybe we should run 2 or 3 different P&G series with different formats like Tony is with GTL.

PR ... was busy playing arcade games

 lol

It's not arcade, in fact is more SIM than P&G in all ways. And I play it in a 40" 1080p Samsung TV. The game image quality is outstanding, as the physics. Btw, the online damage (last patch) is brilliant. yes

@ Manteos: I had a 1971 Alfa Romeo 1300 GT Junior. Dark Blue paint. My very first car and I must add that every 3-5 months I had to take it to the workshop to fix the double 2 Webber carburateurs.  Roll Eyes
Maybe because I drove it almost at red line revs. Young kids........ angel

@ Geoffers: No, you are not the only one to like the Alfa. If you read my post, you will see that I like it pretty much than several cars. My opinion concerning the other cars driving is the same as your's.  Smiley

@ Mike: I like Ian's idea aswell. One hot lap qualification is perfect. More challenging undoubtadly.
Btw, I hope to see you at GT5 online some day.... devil

Sorry folks couldn't make it, a late afternoon appointment in Taunton was running much later than I'd allowed for so didn't get home - knacker - until late.

It's a matter of taste as ever, but I played GT5 3 days ago, and I have to say that is a big step forward comparing it with the older GTs, especially for the graphic side... it seems real!
On the other hand, I have to say that the physics of the car, are getting a bit more "realistic" than the other GTs, but we are so far from a SIM handling of the car... of course is my opinion.
Comparing the work that the GTLW has done for the new version of P&G, I can only say that we are on 2 different worlds.
A SIM is thought to get closer to a real behaviour of the car physics, tyres, damages, and if the P&G is arrived at the 3rd version of this mod, is because during these years the GTLW modders discovered a lot of good things into the physic engine of GTR2 to exploit!
A videogame like GT5, is much more oriented on a larger mass of people! They are focused on the graphic side, not on the tyre grip and wear or car physics, that seemed to me to be "standardized" on a single physic and tyre file.
Probably the main difference between the developers of a game like GT5, and a MOD like P&G 3, is the salary of the workers...I guess that for the "Poliphony" guys the password is "SELL", while for the GTLW is "PASSION".
While the Poliphony delayed the GT5 exit, they were probably thinking about: "How can I simulate the movement of this tree when it's windy?"
In the same time, the GTLW guys were probably thinking: "How can I have a different tyre wear and grip on every single tyre? How can I eliminate the understeer of the American tanks in the slow corners?"
These are simply different games in my opinion. They're not comparable in terms of simulation, because there's no comparison at all.
I can only say, that after a lot of time of work, the GTLW is about to pull of a masterpiece for who like the sims, and I've no doubt a lot of people will like it and especially the GTL lovers will change their minds and come back to P&G again Wink

Now let's hope in a xmas present by the GTLW!!!
Cu guys Smiley

Results are posted.

If I didn't say it already... many thanks to Legzy for administrating the race and to Matt for compiling and posting the replays. This was truly a team effort.
Since it is unclear if I am going to be in the city next week, I'd like to do another dual sprint for next week. I'll cook something up for us.
