I too moved the brake pressure forward for the Alfa while testing. Stiffen the front bump and reduce rear rebound a bit too which will resist the nose from diving and as a result, increase weight on the rear wheels.
Unfortunately, I will miss the dual sprint race again due to client activities in the city. Matt is also working away from home. Legzy will hold the admin torch for the event. I really want to try one of these so I'll cook something up again for next week. Let me know how it works out.

Mike, there isn't a password assigned for this event. Is this deliberate?

Haven't really got time to race here tonight (maybe just the first one) but will be dropping in to test my PnG setup, newly installed for the Christmas do.

As Matt is currently staying at her Majesties pleasure (so it appears) the results will be somewhat late, unless Legzy is good enough to oblidge that is

That's the quite awful "Alfa V" race out the way. Lets hope Clive cheers up & comes back for Race 2 in the 914

Well that was more fun than I thought it would be....even in the suicidal Alfa. Had a nice battle with Legzy in race 1. I was scared to get too close in the braking points as our cars both seemed to have a mind of their own Race 2 was also good fun in the slightly better behaved 914. Had a nice race with Clive as we were quicker/slower in different parts of the track. My back end was a bit loose under power and I kept spinning out on exits which caught me out towards the end. Then I thought the race had ended and put it in the gravel at T1 with 1 lap still to go Congrats to both podies

cruddy disaster night for me. The Alfa volumetrico was diabolical, terrible understeer and the worst brakes on a car since the model T Easily the worst sim car ive driven in P&G. Looked forward to the 914 but kept making errors in qualy in that nasty uphill chicane. Got stuck behind Clive early on after his demon start off the line, but he kept braking like a granny and we gradually fell back from the pack. In trying to avoid his rear end i had a half spin and that effectively ended any chance of a good race, but i charged on anyway, got past GT and Clive when they made errors. Was all set for 6th place finish when i got a wobble in last flipping corner and Cliver stormed back past to nick it :'(

Can't really say that that was a lot of fun.
Two cars that I don't have decent setups for and/or just can't drive and a circuit that I haven't used either.
As MJ has pointed out, I didn't have a clue where to brake with the Porsche, especially coming after the Alfa which was trying to swap ends every time that the brake pedal was touched.
Fantastic pace from those at the front though.
Don't like little cars.

Gotta agree about the Alfa. It has the most random braking of any car in PnG, I swear I was braking at the same point each time but it was doing different things, i.e. veering this way and that, each time. Very disconcerting/frustrating. That said, I quite enjoyed the race where API kept me more than honest all the way through. More of a battle with our machinery than each other but interesting all the same I find the 914 very setup dependent and luckily have a base one supplied by PH that works very well for me. Hence I was fast out of the gate. Had some great fine dicing with Manteos, Legzy, Ade and API. Highlight was last lap fight with Manteous where we went side by side for 4 or 5 corners and I held a lovely slide when we touched. Great fun. Even with cwap cars, it was great to return home to PnG and I look forward to more fun. As for the format, I'm not sure that it offers much more over a single spring race but its fun anyways. One thing that did occur to me was a superlap quali session, i.e. one fast lap quali. Can we do one of them? Not all the time of course but it would spice things up now and again.

Big thanks to Legzy for stepping up at the last minute to do server duties as I was in prison... Mike or I will figure how to do the results eventually. I can probably post replays if nothing else. Enough people have mentioned the Alfa being tough particularly under braking that it must be so. I have used the Volumetrico before a couple of times and found it odd, but quite drivable. If I can get it round Mosport then anyone can here I would think. I seem to remember having to do an extreme setup, like hard as poss front and loads of front brake bias. I find the IROC Piggy to be way more "wander around the track", I struggle to keep that in a straight line. Driving it is like herding cats on ice.

I guess I'm gonna put aside P&G for a while. This season, everything-and I mean everything-happened to me. I was really looking for these two races, mainly because it was at my home track and because the cars are two of that I like more to drive. Yes! Despite no practice at all and only 2 laps of qualy, I was happy. Good start and 4th place chasing the top 3. At 3rd corner I was hit hard at the back, managed to keep the place although lost contact with top 3. And now another odd situation to add to the 3228 previous odd situations this season...the hit at the back damaged my steering... (another reason to prefer GTL) , but ok, lets carry on, even so, I was driving at Ade's pace, so it wasn't that bad. At lap 3 (I guess) my PC froze. When it defroze, I was at 9th place racing at Saturn or maybe at Darth Vader's native planet. The graphics were mad and the only thing I could see right was the cars, I even managed to overtake Mark. But the HUD, track, dashboard, sky and stands were all wrong and with wrong colours, madness! So, I quit. Then, while waiting for the 914 race, I grabbed the PS3 and GT5.... guess what, the time passed by like a lightning and when I went to P&G lobby, second race started already. The positive side of all this is that GT5 is getting all my little spare time now and I'm enjoying like mad. Congrats to all and see you at GTL and RACEON...oh and at GT5 online too.

I have to agree that probably P&G v2.1 needs to be "refreshed". In this sense I hope the GTLW won't delay so much the exit of the 3, cause the P&G 2.1 is losing a bit of "appeal" in every league I race at the moment. Despite of this yesterday I had a lot of fun especially in race 2 with the 914, perfect car to have some good duels on track! In race 1, I was without a single lap of train, and I really hate the Alfa Volumetrico, however I managed to take an unexpected 4th place. I was too quite til the 3rd turn, but I braked too late at the upward bend, and I tapped Paulo, damaging both the cars. Sorry ... During the race, I had some duel, and after I understood a bit better the track, I started to come back til I reached Clive. At the end of the straight of the 2nd sector I totally lost the control of the car under braking, sending Clive in the sand. I saw that he abandoned the race, so I decided to follow him pushing esc. Race 2 was much more funny! I had a lot of duels during the first laps, and fore some good luck I was leading at some point. After a contact with ade (thx for waiting ) I went in 4th position, but the guys in front were engaged in some epic battles, and they wasted a lot of time with some mistakes. I reached again Legzy and Ian, and we was 4 car in a really small gap. Fantastic last laps with Legzy & Ian, in which we were side by side for at least 4 corners, til the brake at the end of the staright of the second sector, in which I decded to defend the inside line, but I was "forced" to open the gas some moments later than Ian, cause even Legzy was defending the inside. Ian managed to complete that great overtake, and I had to be satisfied of the 4th position. However it was a great race. Thx for the fun guys Cu in 2 weeks. Bye bye

It sounds like the 2 race format allowed everyone the opportunity to battle with others on track (well maybe not PR because he was busy playing arcade games). If you missed out on a good battle in race 1 then race 2 presented a new opportunity.
I really like Ian's idea of a single lap quali where everyone will have their eyes on you. Imagine the pressure of only 1 lap and all eyes are on you. You guys know how much I like to challenge the group. If I'm not working in the city, then let's try this next week. We'll do 1 long quali session where everyone has 1 opening lap and 1 flyer. Then we'll do a quick 20 minute sprint. It will be difficult to estimate the amount of time necessary to run the quali session so I'll leave plenty of time. We'll likely end it early and move to the next session via the admin.
I'll prepare another dual sprint as well in case I need to work in the city. I'll also work on the results for this round later this afternoon after work.
