ROUND 2
International Trophy Race Meeting - St. Mary’s Trophy
Bank Holiday Monday 30th March 1964

All members welcome.

Grid/server capacity: 28

Practice: ~19:20 (60 mins)
Qualifying: 20:20 (20 mins)
Race: 20:40 (40 laps = ~60mins)

Track: Goodwood GP Circuit Download this

Cars allowed: Ford Falcon, UKGTL Jaguar MKII Download this, Daimler V8 Download this, Lotus Cortina, Mini Cooper S, 1310 Mini Cooper S Download this.

Ford Falcon available only to new drivers and anyone 8th and lower in the championship standings.
1310 Mini Cooper S available only to new drivers and anyone 12th and lower in the championship standings.

This race will use the UKGTL Skin Pack 1.8.0.0.

Time of Day Setting: 14:00
Start: STANDING
Tyre wear: x2
Fuel consumption: Normal

Server: simracing.org.uk BSCC
Password: see above

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) Driver lists can be found on the Championship standings page
(4) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: Flagman start on LH side of track. Advise having countdown turned on.

Please read this

After the recent test race it was discovered that the Jag MkII has a delicate engine. If you drive it hard the engine will quickly expire. If you watch the revs and don't exceed 6000rpm you will be fine.
I have added another car to this series, the Daimler V8. There are two versions. The white car suffers in the same way as the Jag MkII however the red car has no problems.
I will continue to investigate if there is a fix for the Jag.

I've just installed no cd GTL and now I'm having trouble joining our server. I'm getting the dreaded "...cannot join game. The server might be running an updated version..." message.

I've installed the skins, the track, the add on cars and the hosts hack. The game is also patched to 1.1.

Any ideas on what's wrong?

Put simply.......no. You should have V2.0 of Goodwood installed; that's what's currently running on the server. Is the GTL your using the one with the No CD crack?

Check the forums on No-grip. Someone else is bound to have had this happen.

EDIT: Anything here any use? http://www.nogripracing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=186595

EDIT: Actually this is probably more usefull http://www.nogripracing.com/details.php?filenr=28306  Wink

Wow thanks Tony, that worked a treat  thumbup1 Strange though as I thought this was a W7 thing and I run vista.  Huh

It is the no cd patch which is available through GameCopyWorld and used at the bude. I didn't have this problem when I tried their server, but maybe they already have this fix as part of their installer thingy.

Anyway nice to be rid of that clunky cd that used to live in my dvd drive. I suppose I'm also able to ditch starforce from my system now  Smiley

lol, I remember when I was testing the 1310 Mini for this league a couple of years back... you literally don't have to brake (almost) anywhere & so it's lightning fast here!!! laugh

But think I'm more likely to take the Tina, should get to enjoy a lot more mid-pack mirror swapping whistling

Can just creep under 30 in the Jag or 450, tyre wear is massive though, I can get into low 30's in the normal mini
on a good lap, Tina doesn't work for me, but should be at least as quick as the mini I reckon.

Smiley Mini 1310 hmmmmmm. In my youth I used to own a 1380 with a single Webber 40 which protruded through the bulk head where the speedo used to be.  Cheesy It had no air filter and used to spit fuel back into the car on over run.  Shocked It certainly made me give up smoking.  Grin

Really enjoyed that, well 33 laps of it anyway. Had some great tussles with Matt, GT and Alex for what felt like the entire evening. GT, I let you by that time cos I think you may have thought that I was blocking. I wasn't , I just let the car get away from me on that tight right hander. Really thought I would get a 8th or 9th but my skill left me art the same time as the front left tyre and I left the circuit over an armco and into the dreaded black hole.
Still great turnout, hope you all had a better one.

Great fun race, GTL providing just what the Dr ordered recently Cool (shame it's not deemed worthy of a weekly slot Tongue)

Managed to finish with tyre wear just creeping over 75!!! Shocked Shocked
So well done to Pele who had the sense to pit half way & catch then overtake me with about 4 laps to go Smiley

Was shocked that M Cinerby's 1310 Mini was able to match my falcon stride for stride on the long straights, cornering speed was always going to be way higher, but straights I anticipated being a fair bit faster Huh (especially for the 2nd half of any straights)

Congrats to all, always enjoy a run out at Goodwood Smiley

Great race! Expected to be stuck at the back because of lucky 7th place finish last race but we had _really_ good fights with aforementioned, Tibs and Sqter. Great show.
Tony, hope I kept enough racing room. It seemed that we had some though battles and it is absolutely not my intention to run anybody off the track.

Was a good one, I managed to not completely fall off anywhere, didn't pit, and was 3 secs a lap down towards the end
but would have lost more pitting so stayed out, Let Alex through thinking he was a lapper or lappeee, as I was concentrating
on where Tibs was going to go next, then realised I had polited myself out of a place  laugh
Tina was probably the car to use after Falcon, but I was slower in it than the mini.
