Unfortunately a very short one for me.

Changed the car in free practice from Falcon to Tina and had one good lap only in qualifying, so I was hoping for a better race.

Unfortunately someone behind me had a jump start and kicked me in the ass so I got a stop & go penalty too. After that I did one lap, made a mistake in Cascades in lap 3, hit the wall slightly and could not get out of the sands again. After seven minutes of unsuccessful trying I gave up.

Sorry Legzy for bumping you in lap one on braking the banked corner.

So see you next time.

ahh well... here we go, hate this intro stuff  Grin

hey all, my name is Mark or mb but, mostly Mac to all i race with..... mostly at SimJunkies. i don't say much ie ...Teamspeak, i am a nice wee quiet guy for a scotsman...honest, apart from friday nights but, thats another story  Wink my humble abode is in Paisley, just on the outskirts of Glasgow. i have most the sim racers you have for pc, RFactor, GTR2, GTL etc, etc. Jeez ..... been simracing for, och i dunno how long ... over 6 - 7 yrs, and unbelieveably..... i'm still at it, It's the way i Chill .... that it for a brief intro  laugh

at a loss at simjunkies on a thursday, no racing happens on thursday uk time but, i see that you have a league running here on a thursday night so, that being said.... is it ok to come join you all on a thursday night? I race hard but, fair and usually crawl into a corner if i f*ck up someone else race ... and hate racing on with that horrible feeling, so i try to avoid it at all costs, thats not to say you get an easy ride from me if you happen to be racing against me and at my pace. i also don't care where i finish in a race, for me it's about having a race not winning it at all costs.

anyway, i think i have all i need installed to join you guys, if thats ok?

Cheers  Grin

Hi Mark, you sound like you'll fit in here just fine. Welcome, have a look around and if you need to know stuff just shout OK? Or you can pm for anything GTL.

Hope we see you on the racing line real soon.

Cheers

Tony

Is 2x tyre wear really necessary? My car (Falcon) was absolutely undriveable for the last 10-11 laps. I mean I was 5-6 seconds a lap slower than earlier in the race without making any mistakes. I was barely hanging on and went from 4th to 6th and would have been worse if some people didn't make mistakes.

I thought so. It's character building. And I went from 4th to 8th. Not a good track for the Falcon as all those tight corners take there toll. It wasn't so obvious at Goodwood.

MAN vs MACHINES

.. that sums up my race in short.

Due to some little real life calamity my praccy time today was zilch, so I was hurdled straight into qually while I still was coping with a heavy car (only just found out that the Daimler could just made it with one tank).
Start was fine. Saw a early departure but have learnt recently that you have to wait for the green light to appear even @ Zandy  Wink
Soon I discovered that the engine health was slowly deteriorating at such rate that I couldn't finish the race (the GTL Godz decided to give me an old engine with 80% life in it). Started to short shift (limiting the revs to 7000) and took care whilst double clutching shifting down. Easy for you aliens but a challenge for this undertalented wannabe racedriver.
So into gear box management mode from lap 1 I went...
Against all odds I met Bill on track but a classic 'does he go left or right... yes, left .. oh no, right' move I t-boned Bill's Falcon. Sorry about that.
Luckily I got a competitor but then the virusscanner (?) decide to minimise GTL. Frantically I maximized GTL again finding me just over the banking in the kitty litter...
Refuse to give up and managed to slowly and gently run the Daimler  tank around Oulton Park.
At the end I caught SeniorDan. Hope you didn't mind our little race even though one lap down.

Hope I didn't got into anybody's way but I was a bit busy (did I mention that the RD window was blocking my rear view mirror?) and thanks to all drivers who flashed their lights.
Strangely enough I quite liked the Daimler.. in a funny kind of way...

Lovely write up Alex. Max respect for giving the Dame a go. Didn't think the red one had the engine wear issue  Huh

I didn't either. I think the engine wear issue starts when you touched 8000 revs (max out the revs) but I was a bit busy to investigate any further  Embarrassed

... but maybe it's my 'driving style' which probably suits wrecking ball racing more than the higher art of circuit racing.

Got stuck behind a stationary Sqrtr off the line, then had some fun chasing teamy Phil in our Pseudo minis
we were stuck behind Syd's falcon which eventually had us both off up the inside at Esso one way or another
nothing wrong with blocking I suppose but was dissapointing to have both of us lose 45 secs the same way when
trying to race for fun. Spent the rest of the race trying to hold Phil off, and get past Tony, who showed greyed
out on my HUD, but still showing a position.
