ROUND 3
Oulton Park National Spring Meeting
Saturday 11th April 1964

All members welcome.

Grid/server capacity: 28

Practice: ~19:20 (60 mins)
Qualifying: 20:20 (20 mins)
Race: 20:40 (30 laps = ~60mins)

Track: Oulton Park International Circuit Download this

Cars allowed: Ford Falcon, UKGTL Jaguar MKII Download this, Daimler V8 Download this, Lotus Cortina, Mini Cooper S, 1310 Mini Cooper S Download this.

Ford Falcon available only to new drivers and anyone 9th and lower in the championship standings.
1310 Mini Cooper S available only to new drivers and anyone 14th and lower in the championship standings.

This race will use the UKGTL Skin Pack 1.8.0.0.

Time of Day Setting: 14:00
Start: STANDING
Tyre wear: x2
Fuel consumption: Normal

Server: simracing.org.uk BSCC
Password: see above

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) Driver lists can be found on the Championship standings page
(4) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: None

Please read this

After the recent test race it was discovered that the Jag MkII has a delicate engine. If you drive it hard the engine will quickly expire. If you watch the revs and don't exceed 6000rpm you will be fine.
I have added another car to this series, the Daimler V8. There are two versions. The white car suffers in the same way as the Jag MkII however the red car has no problems.
I will continue to investigate if there is a fix for the Jag.

Tony excuse my ignorance  Roll Eyes but which track version is the  International Circuit?  Huh The track we usually race on here is Oulton Island but you know me race any where in my 1310 Mini except of course it's too easily damaged so I'm also looking at the Tina for here.  Cool

Bill, It's the longest version. It has a banked hairpin turn called Shell Oils Corner.

Watch out for Geoffers tho Bill. If he takes the 1310 Mini he'll be unstopable.

Smiley Hi Tony have you got a link for the sound mod for the Escort please as I mentioned in a previous race I have the car but no sound. I think I have fixed the Mini skin problem I had at Porto. I have now installed the 1310 via the filefront link so fingers crossed it should be OK.

Have not had a chance to do a lap yet, hopefully the chicane after the band hairpin does not enjoy the same 'invisible brick wall' that the gtr2 version of this track has?

Driven the track and haven't found any brick walls. Going to be doing some praccy later so I'll see what I can find.

I know I could take the 1310, but I'm either going with the Cortina or the standard Mini for a bit of fun.

Thanks Tony.  Have raced here before in PnG, think I drove a Yank Tank.  Where the track goes left into the extended bit, seems a lot narrower than PnG and the exit from the banked hairpin seems awfully lumpy.  Have they had an earth quake here since it was built?

Sorry Tony still got problems with this. Filefront fails to find the download and the Humyo seems corrupted. I believe these files usually self install but this one doesn't. I have tried pasting it with no effect so I will see if I can locate it at No Grip. Sorry to be a pain.  Roll Eyes

Hope this works http://www.nogripracing.com/details.php?filenr=16147 This doesn't self install but it's easy to do. Just read the instructions!

EDIT: Here's the self extracting version from my Filefront account. http://www.gamefront.com/files/20122323/SRou_GTL_DucFreak_Elan_Cortina_Sounds_1_1_0_0_exe
