Moderator's Report

One reported incident in this one. After five races in the title is still within the grasp of quite a few drivers. Should be an exciting second half with a mix of familiar and add-on tracks.

Server replay time: 0h16m14s

Bob W overtakes John R and loses it going into the corner. He goes off track then rejoins hitting John. It is noted Bob is going into the corner faster then a sample of other cars at the same point.
Whilst not fully in control Bob did not take enough care rejoining the track and allow for JR.

The rules have this;
Blatant Bad Rejoin: Penalty 2 Places
The rejoining driver was NOT in full control but nevertheless attempted to drive straight back onto the racing line without any consideration for other drivers and contact was made.

Following issues regarding both versions of Riverside the re-run has been moved to the new Sebring 67 track. It has been throughly tested online by the GT modding team and is one of Ginetto's which speaks for itself.

This race is a re-run for the WORKS drivers only replacing the original event on 25 October

Race List = IGOR
Server = UKGPL_T7_2
Race date = 19-12-2010
Time = 21:00 UK time
Track = Sebring 1967
Variant = 67F1
Damage Model = PRO
Qualifying time = 35 minutes. Don't start until 30 mins left on clock to allow everyone to join.
Race length = 50 minutes (laps 18)
Password: see above

Driver lists can be found on the championship standings page
The track can be downloaded from : http://srmz.net/index.php?showtopic=6123
Add-on’s available at : n/a

Please be in IGOR UKGPL chatroom by 8:50 pm UK Time

Reserve drivers should not join the server(s) until there are only 30 minutes of qualifying left. Please restrict chat to pit messages. Moderating will be by reported incidents only, however the moderators reserve the right to review any incident with a particular emphasis on lap one. The aim is to review the race the following weekend so incident reports should be submitted within five days of the race (ie the following Friday). We're hopeful most incidents can be resolved amicably and recommend a days deep breath with a replay review before posting. A sorry in the forum won't be taken as an automatic admission of guilt by the moderators.

With the token system chassis strategy will be a factor. A driver must have sufficient tokens for the chassis he drives in the race.  Any driver who does not have sufficient tokens will be disqualified from the result and his tokens will be set to zero.

Chassis costs;
Lotus 20 / Eagle 17 / Ferrari 15 / Brabham 10 / Cooper 5 / Honda 3 / BRM 0

To see your current tokens hover your mouse over your total points on the championship standings page. Ten tokens will be added when you cross the start line.

67 Patch: The 1.3 Release of the 67mod can be used.

Sebring (pronounced "sea bring") Raceway is one of the oldest continuously-operating race tracks in the United States, its first race being run in 1950. The raceway occupies a portion of Sebring Regional Airport, an active airport for private and commercial traffic that was originally built as a WWII Army Air Forces training base called Hendricks Field. For much of Sebring's history, the track followed a 5.2 miles (8.4 km) layout. In 1967, the Webster Turn right between the hairpin and the top of the track was removed and replaced with the faster Green Park Chicane, which was closer to the hairpin and allowed a flat-out run through a very fast corner to the top of the track and the runway, which made the circuit 50 yards longer. The race is now considered one of the premier endurance races in the United States and is famous for its "once around the clock" action, starting during the day and finishing at night. For many years Sebring was part of the World Sportscar Championship.

Well that practice was a waste of time.....

You would've known earlier if you paid attention.  Wink

And how did you bear to practice around that terrible alternative Riverside?!  Shocked

BTW, how come UKGPL has F1 67 cars records for this track? I think it's a mistake and this is probably for the other older Sebring track. I still don't recall setting that Honda time though...

I didn't practice around that one, I did the proper Riverside, the one that was the freak cause of a mass disco.

Oh, well it was pointless to race that one again and have more people drop out because of screen freeze.

I do have a Honda 67 Sebring setup in my setup pack, but it's for the other version of the Sebring track (which isn't that much different really, so it should work fine).

the long straight is rather bumpy ... thats where they used to practice landing with trainee pilots , big bombers tend to weigh a bit even if the runway is concrete...

bumpy??!!  BUMPY!!!!  I should say so!

 For the first few laps I thought there was either something wrong with my graphics, or my setup was bottoming out because of all the fuel I was carrying!! Roll Eyes

Hi all,

This track turned out to be a great choice. It's a great car equalizer, so I thought I might even have a fighting chance with the BRM, which I chose to save up some tokens.

Ufortunately I was struggling in quali and I couldn't find the extra time I could in the practice races beforehand. In the very last lap however I managed to do a good lap which put me 6th on the grid.

The start was good for me, unfortunately not so much for John who held me up a little bit, but I didn't dare to switch lines so stayed in his wake. Next coupla corners went well, then I saw Al sideways at T3. I chose the inside line which was the right choice and I instantly made up four spots to P3 Smiley .

The race progressed from there with a charging Hiro and John behind, but I managed to hold them off, before Bob in front of me made a mistake at T5. He was in the middle of the track but I could get around him quite well so now I was in P2! I was extatic, especially since it seemed I could keep up with the rest fairly well. This progressed for a coupla laps with the bunch behind swapping places back and forth, and me getting away together with Bob.

That's when it all went wrong. I was just accelerating out of the second to last corner when my camshaft failed and my engine exploded into a million pieces! I was pulling low revs at that slow corner and wasn't amidst a gear change, so I guess it's bad luck rather than driver error? Either way, bummer because I was en route to scoring the best BRM result of the season!

Ironically this happened at Riverside as well, only that time I was in the lead! Argh, America hasn't been very kind for me lately. Let's see what the other brings. The Glen is my least favorite track out of them all but by then I will have my Fez back so I hope to score a good result regardless. After hopefully surviving The Glen I hope to do well at Kyalami as well, one of my favorites Smiley .

I also see Hristo still has a four point lead after substracting the worst two results, hopefully I can find those in the second half of the season!

Tom.

loved the track and those laps I was competitive. unfortunatly I let myself stress by jw behind me and span. after that I just lost concentration wondering why jw didn t show up in front of me on pitboard. "forgot" to brake amd damaged the car. extra fun that tim passed me on last lap.After a brilliant season start my last 4 races have been mess up, connection, conection then mess up. happy for the undeserved 5 th though Smiley.Big commiserations to Juha.

hi all!

Practise went well and got comfortable 1st spot to the grid,others seems choose Brm's for the race so i was easy to take pole.I was comfortable lead running 15 laps until my engine explode, dont know why ,maybe i tried save engine too much   Angry  Car feels very good and setup was excellent for this track, track itself was fun to drive too.Ginetto's top quality with no massive disconnections.

did i earn any points ?

hope i get more speed coming races too

You'll have points, just not sure how many till Tim sticks the scores up  Smiley

Has to be my weirdest race ever - had to pull off on lap 5 to attend to some plumbing!
Thanks to attrition and Al's smoky BRM I somehow still rolled in 4th even after loosing a lap while parked by one of the houses!  Grin

I went for a 2 hours nap before the race because I haven't slept in more than 20 hours, and I set my phone to wake me up on time, but...

I only remember turning the alarm off and going back to sleep.  Grin

Bring it on, Tom!  Tongue
