What Car? 65

So, what cars have we been driving, and which ones do we like?

So far I've tried:

Lotus Cortina - great for chucking around.
Alfa GTA - very like the Cortina, maybe doesn't handle quite as well, but 5 gears.
Jag MkII - slow, but very easy to drive. Someone needs to do an Inspector Morse skin for the driver.
Ford Mustang - fun to muscle around, but I can't make it go any faster than a Cortina.
Austin Healy 3000 - very oversteery on corner entry. Can do some great (unintentional) powerslides.

TVR - brakes need upgrading in the patch. Massive understeer requiring heavy trailbraking on the way in and big oversteer on the way out. Fast in a straight line, slow in the twisties.

It's funny how different cars suit different people- love the Cortina but would take the Alfa over it any day. Aside from a tendency to want to swap ends under hard breaking (high coast, front weighted breaking helps) you can absolutely throw it about and it rarely complains. Love having 5 gears too. Have just had to take the TVR in the latter stages of the C cup and really like it. Don't find it understeers myself and easily holds it's own on the straights. Will avoid the long races until post patch though! Also just had to take the Mustang for two races and absolutely hated it until I'd got my head around how to drive it- get all your braking done before the corner and rely on grunt during the straights. It seems very forgiving sliding at the exit of a corner but is horrible should you brake too late and start to slide on entry- you'll just end up heading straight on. Can't wait to finish the C cup and get on to the 70's cars now

not formed an idea yet, done the A races and half way through the B's, liked the elan for its ease of driving but wanna get behind the wheel of 1 of the porsche.

At the mo I'm really enjoying the Lotus Cortina, Mustang not too bad (apart from understeer) I found it quite forgiving when the back end slides, mini, a hoot on multiplayer. Halfway through final challenge in B Cup.....in a Cortina! (my first car was a modified 1500 deluxe with 1640cc X-flow, Webber carb, sports exhaust and manfold, lowered suspension, Lotus Steel wheels and Discs on the front, and a pair of sports seats. God I loved that car!) 

One gripe about the game, or more specifically the manual, I wish it explained all the tunable options in the Garage. Anyone help me on that one? I've got a basic idea about some of them but not all.

Finished 'C' cup tonight and got on to the 'D' cup (cue sniggering at the back ). 1st race is an all Porsche affair but to my dismay I really couldn't get on with them at all- was hoping I'd carry my GTR/Porsche record into GTL with me but it doesn't look likely. 2nd race you get to drive an Escort RS and BOY is that car fun! Fantastic attitude and great exhaust note. Surprisingly fast on the straights too but just have a tiny bit of understeer I'm not sure how to dial out. The sound takes me right back to watching the "Lombard RAC" Rally as a kid 
Feels great to have left the 60's behind to be honest- the 6 race GP at the end of C was a real slog and pretty tedious

Abarth fun but too slow
Mini mmm undecided
Cortina good flingable drive suits my taste
Alfa like Cortina but with 5 speed box not too keen on it
Falcon i like it but its a bit wieldly typical big iron
Mustang nice but as said before need to get the braking sorted beforE turn in then power out .
TVR nice for me on the twisty stuff using its straight line speed to good effect

My favorite the 911 RSR & BMW CSL
Not tried the Pantera yet or AC Cobra

I feel I'm getting to grips with the TC-65 cars quite well now. Nearly finished the B-Cup , I'm a couple races away from finishing the last challenge. I need 2 points from Spa & Imola for first. Do I win a new car for completing this one? All it's given me so far is a Ford Mustang for winning the Mustang cup.

Will soon be onto the more scarey GTC-65s. Will need to learn better throttle control, I tend to be a bit on-off in the less powerful cars.

I think you win merecedes for completing cup B. Just a word of warning, if you trade it in to buy another car, like I did, you can not buy it back (price is POA) and I presume that applies to any car you unlock.
