things went better than expected. after the horrible eau rouge the car felt better and better with every lap.
could keep the mistakes on an exeptable level and after my porsche system engeneering team mates left, i was able to took the lead.
but of course everything ends somewhere along the way angel
i guess i did half of the race as a very small mistake let me lost the back before a corner and i came on the green. couldn't slow down enough and went over the wall.
unluckily quick enough to fall into nowhere. :'(

hope all others can finish the race Wink

OK for about 18 to 19 laps when I ran up a grass bank and flipped over the fence into the dreaded 3rd dimension to spend my life whirling through time and space.   Grin

Same here Bill, but complete lack of practice meant I only lasted 3 laps. Congratulations to anyone who manages to finish this race.

Thanks for laying that on Tony.

Had great fun battling Jaqen in first stint. He'd make the odd slip, then the 917 grunt would see him back with me in no time. Repeat until end of stint, good, fair driving. In those cars, that just had me beaming Smiley Sadly, that was pretty much it till end of race and ta to Ade for finishing it early (the shame if I crashed out and you won with the class II car Smiley).

Will gladly drive those cars again and again and again if need be Smiley Maybe a shorter race and lessen the chances of dodgy pitstops would be better next time, if there is one.

What a great event, really enjoyed that tonight. Decided late on to take the 908 as things were looking a bit barren in the slower class. Thought I was going to be left in the dust, but the fuel consumption/tank size of the 908 brought me into play nicely meaning I was on for a 2 stopper and would also have the bonus of no tyre changes.

Unfortunately I made a right whopper on the slowest part of the track and
stalled/restarted/stalled/restarted/stalled/restarted  Hit with a wet fish I might have still been on for a close finish had I not hit that silly bit of wall jutting out onto the track which abruptly ended my race.......didn't even see it until it was too late Roll Eyes

A little series of hour long events with these cars would be nice, although finding the right mix to balance them out for shorter events could be tricky  Undecided

That nobody finished isn't strictly how it happened. Our two Champions, Ginsters and Ade, on being the last two cars, decided to call it a day before they reached the 36th lap. And who can blame them.

That was good  Cool shame about the mess at Eu rouge at the start Huh come on we can do better than that Huh i had folk flying past me off the start when there was no need at all  Angry its a long race, just tuck in and wait for a bit please Smiley
I got myself through the melee only to check my rear view to see what was going on and ran wide at T2 pointing the wrong way and had to wait till everyone went past Sad
then saw someone rubbing along the armco towards me Shocked tried to get out of the way but it didn't work Shocked
got my head down until the pit stop and hit the limiter at the cones to be safe then saw the line near the garages so thought that was the pit limit line, so next time in (it wasn't) and got a stop go  Sad saw folk drop out here and there along the way  Huh giving Legzy and Spanner a driver running countdown on teamspeak Grin
it was me and GT for a close finish and i got a bit worried when he didn't pit lap after lap  Shocked he must have some sort of solar/moon powered thing going on there Wink
Then it was me in class 2 all on my own , SBG and Sqter at it for  victory then  just behind me i see Sqter take a dive over the armco Shocked
I give SBG a shout over chat and let him know i give in  surrender  with 10 laps to go, didn't see the point in taking it to the end, although i was enjoying hot lapping it ( but boy was my throttle foot ragging) triple racing socks next time Cheesy

Cheers Tony for setting this one up Cool
                                                                         Thanks all for turning up

Sounds like you guys had a good time Grin Grats Ginsters,Ade, Sqter clap

I have to pull out of this one as well Embarrassed. I got invited to a whale watching tour in Long Beach Smiley. We'll see if the whales show up Undecided. From what I hear it's a 50/50 thing. Have a good race fellas thumbup2
You should see some of the whales we get on our beaches here in the UK, spoiling my nice Fish n Chips by turning up in their two pieces! thumbdown Wink

Gee, I thought I wouldn't see any whales and then I got to port and there they were!!! whistling

So the skinny of the trip was there were no whales. A couple of small harbor dolphins and that's it.
A great boat and tour plus a rare view of the Queen Mary was worth the trip boat thumbup1

Thanks for that treat Tony.  Went much better on the night than all my previous attempts.  After being punted off and getting a cut track warning I managed to settle down into a rhythm and all went well.  First pit stop, at lap 12, went OK - no damage and no new tyres, which seemed set to last the race.  Watched as drivers dropped out for various reasons then after a few laps attention started to wander until I spun and hit the barrier.  Handling seemed OK so continued, avoided goldtops accident thanks to his swift action in quitting as I was trying to work out which way to go.  Then I went up the grass and over the fence - don't think I braked late or missed the turn in, so may be the accident earlier had given me a touch of understeer.  Who knows, I needed a P so had planned a long pit stop to have one, you know the old  adage P is for relief - it's me age y'know.

Good fun that. Because of a few preceding events, I perhaps foolishly turned up to this race with no practice  Roll Eyes. I knew the track well enough though didn't really crack to setup. The Porsche felt like a boat through some of the corners. After the first lap melee, I found myself in 4th, but gradually dropped back with a lack of pace. Eventually I fell foul of the zealous cut corner warnings and completed a stop and go. Soon after another cut warning happened but this resulted in a straight stop and go instead of a warning. Another one followed the next lap and another stop and go was required! With a further 2 stop and gos needed I wasn't really in the mood to race, and a spin at the Masta Kink obliged me to retire.

Congrats to the winners  Smiley.

I would have loved to stay, but my pit crew decided to leave.
