ROUND 5
16th International Trophy Meeting - International Production Touring Car Race
Saturday 2nd May 1964

All members welcome.

Grid/server capacity: 28

Practice: ~19:20 (60 mins)
Qualifying: 20:20 (20 mins)
Race: 20:40 (30 laps = ~60mins)

Track: Silverstone 1970 GP Circuit Download this

Cars allowed: Ford Falcon, UKGTL Jaguar MKII Download this, Daimler V8 Download this, Lotus Cortina, Mini Cooper S, 1310 Mini Cooper S Download this.

Ford Falcon available only to new drivers and anyone 12th or lower in the championship standings.
1310 Mini Cooper S available only to new drivers and anyone 18th or lower in the championship standings.

This race will use the UKGTL Skin Pack 1.8.0.0.

Time of Day Setting: 14:00
Start: STANDING
Tyre wear: Normal
Fuel consumption: Normal

Server: simracing.org.uk BSCC
Password: see above

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) Driver lists can be found on the Championship standings page
(4) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: This event is started by a flagman on the right hand side of the circuit. Recommend turning the start countdown on.

Please read this

After the recent test race it was discovered that the Jag MkII has a delicate engine. If you drive it hard the engine will quickly expire. If you watch the revs and don't exceed 6000rpm you will be fine.
I have added another car to this series, the Daimler V8. There are two versions. The white car suffers in the same way as the Jag MkII however the red car has no problems.
I will continue to investigate if there is a fix for the Jag.

Hmm.... very quite in this thread - - -  is this race cancelled or something ?

I did some Jag-practice yesterday and got me a 1.47.300 lap. which seems to be about my limit here.

Did anyone else have a go at it?

Down to 1:49,6 in the Falcon now.

I'm sure with a better setup there would be some space left.

So you're off to Glass-go to WORK ? I could think of many good reasons to visit Glasgow, working is not one of them  Wink

Apparently 1.48 was not my limit 'cause I just managed a 47.800 1.47.330 on ½ tank. I might did actually do that 1.47.300  Grin

Unfortunately Ade and his likes will be aprox. 1 sec faster  Grin

The tyres are my problem now , they won't last 3o laps, that's for sure.
