ROUND 6B
Saloon Car Race
Bank Holiday Monday 18th May 1964

All members welcome.

Grid/server capacity: 28

Practice: ~19:20 (60 mins)
Qualifying: 20:20 (20 mins)
Race: 20:40 (60 laps = ~60mins)

Track: Crystal Palace GP Circuit Download this

Cars allowed: Ford Falcon, UKGTL Jaguar MKII Download this, Lotus Cortina, Daimler V8 Download this.

This race will use the UKGTL Skin Pack 1.8.0.0.

Time of Day Setting: 14:00
Start: STANDING
Tyre wear: Normal
Fuel consumption: Normal

Server: simracing.org.uk BSCC
Password: see above

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) Driver lists can be found on the Championship standings page
(4) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: None

Please read this

After the recent test race it was discovered that the Jag MkII has a delicate engine. If you drive it hard the engine will quickly expire. If you watch the revs and don't exceed 6000rpm you will be fine.
I have added another car to this series, the Daimler V8. There are two versions. The white car suffers in the same way as the Jag MkII however the red car has no problems.
I will continue to investigate if there is a fix for the Jag.

So the Falcon isn't restricted in this one then?
I'm not using it either way, I can't stand it. Just wanted to point it out.

That's correct. Restrictions begin again next time at Brands Hatch. There was a reason for this but TBH I've completely forgotten what it was  Roll Eyes
I could apply restrictions but at this late date it might upset drivers who had already spent time practising.

Sorry guys - can't make this one.

Dogsitting with my nieces dog - a very nice young Border Collie girl -
which requires some hours of engagement.

Have fun.

Short and spontaneous one for me.
Came back home just in time for quali, had to install a new internet connection (don't know why - but then it worked) and entered the game with 10 minutes left in quali.
Could only find one online setup so I made some laps for last place on the grid and then thought:
try to modify this setup and drive just for fun without testing.

That spontaneous setup wasn't that bad but I did my lap in last place - as usual on this track.
After some laps - don't know which one exactly - I left the track due to a turner and disappeared in the nirvana of the green - that was it for me.

Left due to too many laps on a small track, just kind of lost interest really & then started making little mistakes & dropping down the feild. Would have been good as a 25-30 min event.

Congrats to the podiums.

Five laps to go for me and suddenly I was on my own. Left the race and had the usual message in the forum that I had re-connected and welcome back to Altbierbude etc etc. I have my connection set in the lobby as ISDN. Is this right?
