Smiley Another good race for me. I expected to be a little closer to Ade, where that extra 2 secs come from I would love to know, but well done and excellent win mate.
I had a small battle with Geoffers whom put in a fine quali time of 2.00 against my 2.01 but I can only presume he was on an empty tank while mine was achieved on a full tank due to me not having the Daimler V8 installed so could not touch my default set up as the menu screen was flashing.  Shocked I have tried to install this car but the Humyo file seems faulty and its not on File Front.......Tony help!!!

Anyway start was clean then passed Geoffers on lap one.  Smiley Ade was gone but I pushed as hard as I could pegging him at about 5 secs. This resulted in a small offet at T-last giving Geoffers a sniff of P2 again so I decided to forget it an drive at 90%. Geoffers sat there behind me at 10 seconds for most of the race but I new his front tires would give up at some point (around lap 20 ish) and he dropped back to 30 seconds by race end.

I have now been recruited to race for Legzy's "Team Oldie Racing" so I'm off down his garage to inspect the metal.  Grin

Great racing you guys see you all next time.  Smiley

First apologies to Tibs for misunderstanding at the dreaded Chicane.  I over cooked it at the previous chicane and realised I couldn't overtake you in the first part of the strait and that I had no way to make a clean pass, so I stayed there expecting you to go through and I brake and drop in behind you.  But I guess you thought I was trying to involve you in a chicken situation.  By the time I realised this, it was too late and in trying to give you room and the line, misjudged the width of the Falcon and hit the solid barrier - losing most of my places.

Set a new PB in qualifying, battling with Tibs a couple of times for track.  The start was good avoided the first lap pile ups and all was well until the above situation.  Still I had fun learning to drive a Falcon, beginning to drift the rear out of turns to combat under steer when I over did it twice, on one lap and had two cut track warnings.  After that I had to modify my driving to avoid a stop and go.  Had a number of run off allowing Alex to catch me - not certain whose fault the accident was as I was fighting for control as I floored it to try and keep ahead to you. 50/50?  Thanks for waiting for me, I was trying to signal you to go as I thought I'd be able to catch you and it would be more fun.

After that driving got more and more difficult with tyre and front brakes wear.  I am normally good on tyres and brakes but the left front tyre was in the 60s I think - I stopped looking at it and the brake was down to a thin red line.  I've had a Yank Tank week of it and feel I might at last be coming to terms with the not so powerful ones.

Had a great start and found myself in the rarified air of 4th place. This cannot last I thought and lo I managed to spin off the track, hit the barrier and end up facing in the wrong direction. That set me back to 6th, which I managed to hold on to up till around lap 15 when Tibs and Legzy both began to loom large in my mirrors. With my tyres shot I was slowing down every lap and they both caught and passed me. A stop/go penalty followed and with no tyre wear left I was happy to make it to the flag.

The tyres actually still felt good at the end of the race, I lost the extra time by twice going off at Island (the turn before the hairpin) & on lap 26 I took too much kerb at the first chicane & rolled it!  Roll Eyes Those were really the only exciting bits of a pretty uneventful race, thought I might be able to give the Cortinas a bit of a battle but it wasn't to be. Still at least I finished this time  Grin

Congrats to Ade & Mark.
