That was a cracker! was experimenting with manual gears, ok most of the time, but challenging at the hairpins into 1st. Harried Ade for a few, then got past, and pulled away a bit, then when the tyres started to go off I was losing chunks of time to him. My setup was made assuming more front wear, but I got a lot more rear so with the man gears, dropping cogs had me all over the road, Ade was low on fuel towards the end but I had spun a coupld of times so was too far back to attempt to make anything of his low speed fuel economy run.

Picked the wrong car it seems the E type had the edge on the Ferrari. I had problems getting in to this event with Mr Crossley I think and then no engine sound on the car to begin with strange!! Thus qualified about P10 I think. Got a great start but hung back and waited for the usual pile up at the hair pin got in nice and tight and came out in P6 still mixed up with a gagale of E Types and going into the right at the end of the big straight I may have touched Syd Drake, if so I would like to apologise mate it was not intensional. I then caught Tibs and Phil and had a monumental battle with some excellent driving on all sides. I thought I had P3 in the bag when Phil disappeared but Tibs did not give up and to be honest my Ferrari was past its best. Tibs and I had a ding dong battle on the last lap and we were side by side over the line!! I still think its a photo finish I thought I had got P3 back...............Just another few meters may be? Congrats to the podiums.......roll on the next race.

I only just saw this event was running on Tuesday and had no time to practice until today when the practice session started. So grabbed the TR4 but got a "no car on server" message. Decided I would try the Aston. Then when I saw the message from Phil (sorry about that), I thought I would grab something else. In the end I used the Ferrari. I remember the Rouen track from my GPL days so just needed getting used to the car on the track. The start was ok I was very near the back and managed to creep past a few people on my way down to that hairpin. Then had a good run on someones E-type but lost it under braking skidded across the apex after the long straight and hit a parked car facing the other way.. ooops. Anyway got back into it and managed to get back with some people. I had a good race with a Escort (not sure who) but in the end my ferraris legs i think helped me pull away. Only for me to completely cock up into turn one and have a big crash, ending up on my roof. Good racing you all again. Looking forward to the next one. Must practice !! Jason.

Thanks for changing cars Jason, we've had some trouble with some. I seem to remember the red Aston was bothersome, and Tony has seen trouble with some of the TR4s which is why some are not present. The TR4A is there, or at least the Orange one is.

Thoroughly enjoyed the race last night. Mainly because throughout the race I was battling with other drivers. Started in 11th and spent the opening laps battling with Eifelblitz (aka SpecialKS). Jason had made a mistake at the twisties so passed him. I then had him, Eifel and Sqter chasing me down. Jason passed me but I was able to stay with him as Sqter and I exchanged places several times. Sqter eventually made a pass that stuck and he sped up the road in persuit of Jason, meanwhile Eifelblitz was looming large in my mirrors. Then spent a huge part of the middle of the race passing and being passed with Eifelblitz as we each made errors allowing the other to take the lead. During this I was conscious that Jack Dummer was slowly catching me lap be lap and soon I could see him as I left the hairpin. Eifelblitz lost it big time at the flat out right hander and I passed him and he never really threatend again. Jack must of had a big off as his lap times showed me that he was no longer a threat. Later on I caught and passed a slowing Sqter (damage?, fuel?) who eventually pitted.
All in all a good race for me with lots of action. And after the recent drought I'd been having that was much appreciated.

Mike/Mark, you need to upload them to a Photo hosting site like Photobucket. Once uploaded, each pic will have a unique insert code. Post them here my selecting the insert image icon and place your code in between the two sets of brackets
