No practice time for here, but I've had enough laps here in the past with GPL and Nascar 4 to at least know where the track is going and where the pitfalls are. So I thought I'd be ok for the race.. Was a surprise to be on pole Grin GTL...like riding a bike  laugh Had a good start. Henry and I quickly got a decent gap. Henry was all over me and after a couple of mistakes he got by but I was able to stay with him and then Henry had a couple of small mistakes and I was able to get back by.. He was right back on me and shortly after passed me again..  I was then able to get a good run exiting turn 1 and we were side by side entering the left hander going up the hill I wasn't sure if I had cleared Henry so I left room but dropped my left side on the grass and slide into the barrier.. Actually got on top of it like a skateboard grinding on a rail.. Amazingly I only lost a coupe of seconds with that and was able to get on with the chase again..  Shortly after that Henry was pulling away from me as I just couldn't keep the pace anymore as the Aston started to wear out.. Was able to drive to 2nd place from that point.. Had great time racing Henry again as we haven't had many chances this year for that.. Big congrats to Henry for a well deserved home track win Wink Grats also to Matt for his solid 3rd place finish. Was nice to run GTL again as it just feels like home..  And a big thanks to Tony as always for keeping GTL going thumbup1

Rather a quiet race for me which yielded on of my best results. Was going to take the Volvo but panicked when I worked out that it's fuel tank might not see me to the end without a top-up. Then spent the remainder of praccy choosing an alternative drive. Settled on the Ferrari 250 and then spent what was left of praccy and most of qually setting her up and test driving her with a full tank to get used to the handling and braking. Realised that a steady Eddie approach was called for with lot's of early braking, smooth entry's and fast acceleration out of turns, and for the most part this worked well. I had only a couple of minor armco rubs.
Race started and passed Bill and Sandor early on (after they had collided?). Soon caught Alex and passed him too. Then it was catch-up time to reel in Tibs and Eifel who looked to be in close company with each other. But for most of the race they kept the gap between me and them. Near the end I finaly passed Eifel who was on his roof! More than enough laps to catch Tibs I thought and spent the remainder of the race trying dam hard to go faster than him. He did at on point seem closer but soon sped off again. I had settled for 6th place when I passed Tibs who had obviously had some drama as he was recovering on the grass. Three laps to go keeping Tibs about 3 secs behing me and a nice 5th place.

Thanks to everyone who turned out. If you had a good time and you havent donated, please think about doing so willya?

Cheers

Tony

First apologies to Sandor for collision - on right hander, first lap.  My different driving style and setup means at times I fail to realise just how much drift you other guys achieve with new tyres.  My eventual pass was more what I expected, you started to drift wide and I was able to drive inside you and complete overtaking manoeuvre.

Having made my apologies, thanks Tony for organising the event; I really enjoyed driving through from last and gradually closing the guy in front down and then battling for the place.  First Sandor, then Alex and finally SpecialKS (aka Eifelblitz).  The last battle got very untidy as we both had Ferrari 275 GTB/Cs using the same gearing, striving to brake later and use the full track width,  with me trying different lines to get the lead.  We both had wheels on the grass and a few “gentle” nudges of the Armco, finally with just over a lap left I out braked myself into that open left hander, sharp right hander and spun backwards into the Armco, Stalling my engine and losing about 10 secs, leaving Eifelblitz a comfortable drive to the end.

First time I’ve driven the Ferrari in anger and very pleased with the result, using a slightly modified Legzy setup.  Yes Tony I would like an Alfa/Tina race here also.

Was a real fun race.
Had a lot of fun with Tibernius over more than one half of the race.
Great fights - thank you Sir!
Then I made my only (!) big mistake, cause my tyres were down, landed on my roof  sweatdrop
and Tony could pass me.
At the end of the race I had to fight more and more with my tyres and had to look
at my fuel consumption. Bill one or two seconds behind me could go faster but obviously he made a
mistake and I could reach seventh place on my latest drop of fuel - now sixth due to Tib's DQ  Huh.

Has someone else asked for one? I missed that  Huh

As that's a doddle to setup I'll organise one for a Monday night when were not doing a WPC event, OK?

It's obviously my memory playing up again  Huh (my age y'know) I thought I'd read in an earlier post that you thought a flat out blast through those bends in a Alfa/Tina race would be good.  Cool  Duff Gen as Usual  hammer  You must of made the suggestion about another track altogether or I'm dreaming again.  Roll Eyes
