Race start time depends on how long it takes to get through qualifying. I plan to start racing as soon as qualifying is complete. The quali start time is correct. Race start time may be a little earlier or later than the estimated 30 minutes for quali. It really depends on the number of drivers and effeciency with which we can get people on track. This is a test afterall.
Qualifying order will be in reverse order of the practice times. So you are next on track if your name is on the bottom of the list. If you join during quali, you better get in the driver's seat very quickly because you are up next. It is best if everyone joins during the practice session.
For this 1st test, I'd like to run 1 driver on track at a time. Going forward though, it makes sense to have 1 driver out on a hot lap and a 2nd on an out lap following the hot lap driver. This will reduce the overal time required to run the quali session and still give others a chance to watch the hot lapper on track sweat.

Does the quali start time work for you guys in the UK? Obviously I can't change things for tonight, but if it is too early or late I can make adjustments for future events.

Probably the most enjoyable race I've had in any SIM for over a month (might not sound much, but that's probably approaching 15 races ) Was going really well at the start, but span on the inside of T1 after about 4 laps hanging onto the leading group. Spent a few laps catching up to Geoffers & Clive & then saw Mike suffer the same as I had & drop back behind us some. Try as I might, I just couldn't make a move on Clive & he was struggling with Geoffers, then I really tried to apply the pressure, got one chance & took it... then clung onto it for all i was worth. We were so close Clive & me from about lap 7 till the finish line. On the last 4/5 laps we were joined by Mike, that put a cat (a bloody big one!) amongst the pigeons I can tell you! He got past Clive & even got past me for a corner, twice I think! Brilliant stuff. I'd never have predicted that from my history of this track. Really liked qually too. Think we could have had 2.5 ( )on track right through though.

Probably the most enjoyable race I've had in any SIM for over a month I totally agree Legzy Didn't have the time to practice much, but I had someone to chase or keep behind me for most of the race. This track was ideal for a duel between the Falcon and the Lotus ...... a superb choice Mike Stig / Hotkeys

Results and Replay Posted in a secret LocationEnjoyed the whole deal, I think the one at a time may get old eventually, if so we can get 2.538 on the track at once then you can choose who you want to watch. Spun and maybe was assisted down the banking at T1 went off same place later, but had fun dicing with people, had some good clean racing with Bill twice

Fantastic fun for me tonight. I really enjoyed the quali format. It mixed up the field a bit which made for some interesting racing as well as applied pressure to the driver on his hot lap. Having two cars with different personalities and similar lap times also helped. I most enjoyed watching FMG and others slide the arse of the led sled Falcon around the track. Miguel might remember how fond I am of the purple Falcon sprint from our racing days at Race 2 Play. For the next round, let's try the 2 cars on track. Lorenzo lined up at pit exit in preperation for the starter asking him to go. I think this worked well. Matt did a brilliant job with the starter duties. Going forward we'll leave it up to the starter's discression on how to best seperate the drivers. Under no circumstances though should a person on his hotlap be impeded or pressured from behind. When get really comfortable with 2 or find ourselves on a large circuit then we can run more. It was interesting to see so many drivers including myself were quicker in the race than quali. It is tough to get a perfect lap with only 1 shot. It's even tougher if you have 0 practice and don't know your way out of the garage and onto the pit lane. I had many, many close battles with others on track today. The battles with FMG, Ade, Legzy and Clive stand out. FMG pulled off a brilliant pass entering the outfield takeing Ade and I 3 wide. He wasn't suckered into the deep braking duel Ade partook in and then FMG held his ground on the inside and refused to yield. Brilliant stuff FMG! Many congrats to Miguel for his first trifecta (pole, win, fast lap). This was a test round. The next will be the 1st race in season 5.

Good race, really enjoyed throwing the Cortina around. I must admit I was a bit dubious about the new qually procedure, I thought it would mean a lot of sitting around twiddling your thumbs. But it was actually quite exciting & a bit nerve-wracking when it came to your turn. Race was great fun, had a good battle with Clive for several laps until I put it off the road at the downhill left. Drove hard after that to catch back up & got on the tail of the battle for 4th with about 3/4 of a lap to go. Might have made up a place or two if the race hadn't finished early, these timed races have a habit of not running the full distance in P&G. Congrats & welcome to Miguel & congats also to FMG & Ade. PS: If any of you P&G fans are sat around with nothing to do on Sunday, over at NG we are running a P&G race at Reims. http://www.nogripracing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=237572

Carrying on a point that Geoffers picked up on..........why do we have to have race distance set by time. Surely by race day there is the info available to gauge what the no. off laps will be give or take a lap either way?

Race distance by time was unintensional and a mistake on my part. I while preparing the race, I jotted down 30 minutes for the race distance, but forgot to calculate the number of laps after my testing. I simply entered the data from my notes into the race announcement.

Spun and maybe was assisted down the banking at T1 went off same place later, but had fun dicing with people, had some good clean racing with Bill twice Yes that was great fun particularly my racing with you and the first time I think, we had Stig / Hotkeys between us with his Lotus Cortina - all of us giving the others room to race. Like someone else said earlier I've never thrown a Lotus Cortina around like that before - Mike's earlier advice on changing the Mini handling stuck in my mind - so I cranked up the rear roll bar and it made all the difference in those tight bends. It was more like driving a Rally Cross car, drifting over the loose stuff, on the edge of control or in my case over it at times. Re:- the qualifying, we used something similar in the GTL NZ organised league on Simjunkies, except that we had 15 mins to qualify - warm up and one flying lap. We use to go out when we were ready with a 15 to 20 sec gap and usually all went well unless we were unfortunate to get caught up in a previous driver's incident. In general over a period of a year plus it worked well. We use to have 3 sprints so we had plenty of practice at getting it right.
