with the porker, i followed the advice from laguna thread and softened the front whilst stiffening the rear, and adjusting the cambers and pressures to make the temp spreads even. I find you have to be a little cautious into the corners to get it turning but once the car is committed the traction is great!
Going to review a few of my faster laps just too check that my lines are "legal" as i am taking a LOT of kerb at Chicane and Villeneuve corners.

Had a few laps here this morning and broke into 37s in the porka with race setup.

New wheel and a few tweaks have made a big difference especially with my braking. Still not sure if I'll get to race tomorrow, but hopefully I'll be a little more on the pace in future....just before I go spinning off into the gravel laugh

will hopefully join you guys for this tonight. Zolders a great track and perfect for these clubmens racers.

Stupid me just wasted an hour practising with the 997cup car thinking that was in GT3...but now know its not  taz same setup in 996 was all over the place  Roll Eyes oh well, a slightly tweaked version will have to do but i am off the pace of the times posted here unless they are qually times? 1:40&41 with full race fuel for me.  Sad

that was really great stuff!
I felt my pace was right there - got below 1:39 during qual on a race setup so was pleased to be sitting 6th on the grid and feeling confident. The first stint of the race went really well, and i spent most of it defending from a hard-charging Gillet (not sure of who the driver was), and still held my 6th place at the fuel stop......
.... and then it all went wrong... don`t know what gear i had the car in but with the limiter on the car just stalled... thrice!!!!!!  took the limiter off briefly to get the car out of the box.. .and incurred a penalty !!!
Took my stop/go (getting the car out with no problems this time) and set about persuing the man in front....
i pushed hard and set some really good times.. passing Jonzo when he took to the pits with about 10 mins to go....  had to spend the last  5 mins on tiptoes though as my tires were shot and the car was running on fumes....
All in all, i`m really pleased with my pace but really need to work on those pit skills!

that was an exciting race, Zolder is a nice flowing track. But i must try to STOP MAKING MISTAKES AND RUNNING WIDE!!!! i made about three errors in the early laps and lost so much time, but once i settled down in to a rhythm i did ok, and got a bit of much needed practice following closely and trying to overtake people. Is there a race next sunday? if so what track/mod?

It was my 1st ever Pole in UKGTR2 & I managed to lead from start to finish (despite some strong pressure from Spanner in the 1st half of the race).

As you can no doubt guess, I'm rather chuffed. Smiley

(p.s. Nobody mention the size of the grid or that from the results, it seems the Nissan was the quickest car here Lips Sealed)

Well done Legzy. Smiley

Too bad the field was so thin, though GT3 class is a bit unatractive. Tongue Good to see Blito and SRW getting on pace. thumbup1

Managed to get a pb in quali but it was not enough for pole and could be sorted out as a lucky lap - my race pace was nowhere near that of Nissan cars. Most of this is due to porkers usage of tyres. Soft rears were good for 3 laps, after that were red hot and unusable. So I could use it for quali to make a quick lap but this setup was rubbish for racing. Soft fronts, med rears and each stint they were all worn above 20. Managed to stay with Legzy for 4 to 5 laps, then the best rubber was off and I started to make mistakes. Spanner came by, then H@l, nsfast... Undecided Still, constant trying and driving on the edge brings its own thrills and that's what I'm comming here for. Cya next time. Smiley

P.S. @Pete: I bet you would have better race here. Stay away from that arcade sim place. Tongue

Nice race. Smiley

It was a shame that the numbers were a bit low but, I had a great race. Very close fights with nsfast, TT and spanner for almost all of the race.

I always have good races in the GT3 class but, they seem to attract less people. Practise is defiantly not as much fun in these cars.

Well dona all and thanks for attending.

Especially well done to Legzy for winning, he dominated from start to finish.

See you all at Mid-America next week. Smiley

Blimey, so close but in reality, so far

Didnt think the nissans would be quite so far ahead, dont think they've really had any kind of advantage when we ran the GT3's before.
Very surprised to end up in 3rd with TT somehow in front of me in the porsche. Tried to try and beat legzy but being nearly 4 tenths in front was unlikely.

In the race i wasnt sure about how well the softs would last so decided to try and split it equally. Never ran meds as the softs seem to cope for short stints. In the race i managed to keep with TT early on but he seemed to be struggling in the porka and managed to get past. Just couldnt catch Legzy ahead though we both seemed to have good and bad laps but the gap stayed around the 2 sec mark. I was expecting most people to start on full tanks and then pit for a short final stint, so i pitted around mid point with my normal plan, another stint of 65L and new tyres. When i came out i had H@L right behind me and Legzy 12 secs infront and i couldnt see XD during my pit i assumed they hadnt pitted.

I started thinking about letting H@L through as he was going to stop later and that when Legzy stopped i would be infront... w00t
censored ninja cursing  Turns out i was completely wrong  death helpsmilie surrender
Only found out when H@L decided to make a move on me and then said he didnt need to stop. So then tried to pressure H@L as much as i could and managed to get back past and he dropped off quickly giving me some breathing room till the end.

So through gritted teeth, well done Legzy Tongue

Come back Pete you know this is your spiritual home!

I do wonder if we do many more fun races that people will forget when we start proper:(

Good to see those people who did turn up.

Couldn't make it last night which is a shame because I enjoy the 996.

These start times are beginning to get very difficult for me due to a combination of family commitments and Mrs. Goldtop's work rota....frustrating as it's so unpredictible atm. Hopefully things will settle down or I'll be looking for a North American league to race in  Roll Eyes
