Tony with it's long straights will this become a Aston fest?

At least two of us will be taking the Merc. As Hristo has pointed out, the Aston is not much faster on the straights. I vote for keeping things as they are unless we have technical problems, but there seems to have been little sign of them in others' testing.

If the Mantorp Park track is problematic then the substitute circuit will be Anderstorp Grand Prix. No. off laps will be revised to suit.

Tony with it's long straights will this become a Aston fest?  Not got time to check out but having done one flying lap in Aston at 2 min (I'm parc driver) I think the North or South tracks should be considered to help Merc be competitive.  Gut feeling.  Roll Eyes

If we get disconnected and unable to re join how will we know what's happening except for sitting there forlornly in the Lobby?

I'll post in the lobby if needs be

Roll Eyes Total disaster. After a reasonable quali performancefor P2 but no where near Itchov in P1 I finally got a great start and took the lead.  Grin
Losted it though within 4 laps to Itchov and decided to run my own pace after seeing the tyre wear and fuel useage. I could not believe it when lap 25 rolled up and the fuel light came on. I had put 34 laps of fuel in at the start...weird.  Huh So came in stuck 15 laps of fuel in and went back out in P4. Pushed on hard, passed Geoffers when he spun, and closed on Syd.  Smiley.....When the fuel light came on again on lap 30 I just got the hump.  Angry Roll Eyes Embarrassed and held out for 2 more laps....It died at the end of lap 31 in the pit lane.....What an end to a enjoyable season. I guess I must practice more, I did short gear it, but to be so far out on fuel is very strange?  Huh

Did anyone see fuel leaking out of my car.  Grin

Congrat's to Itchov, Syd and Geoffers well done guys.  Wink

Again many thanks Tony for a really fun championship.  Smiley

Mark, that Aston sure eats a lot of fuel, I noticed that during my offline practice runs. The mileage prediction in the setup screen is completely wrong, so I just fueled it up to the top for the race. In the end I had about 2/5 of fuel left in the tank, so it wasn't that bad. The tires were gone though, lol... lots of mistakes in the 2nd half of the race, and a complete spin with 2 stalls on the very last lap.

A lot of add-on tracks have inaccurate fuel estimates.

XD always tells you exactly how much fuel you burn in a lap. For example in praccy tonight my Astons XD showed 1:93 litres per lap.  So I fuelled up for the start with 64 litres (I always add a little for luck).

Grats Hristo on the win, and Geoffers for third.
I started well, and built up  5 second lead over Geoffers over the first 10 laps, but then my tires went off, and I was toast. Geoffers caught me back up, and we had a big battle for some 15 laps. He was clearly faster, but I had speed advantage on the straights, so I managed to hold on until Geoffers made a mistake with some 5 laps to go. And then I suddenly noticed I was in second place. Tough lack Mark. My xd was showing about 2l per lap usage so I put in 70l for the race.

Had an entertaining race, fighting with Matt & Phil in their SL's ...... sometimes even caught in between the 2 of them. My tyres were struck by fatigue Grin, but from what I could tell, the SL's struggled even more with the tyrewear.

You must have been a bit stressed Mark ...... you asked during practice, if the fuel consumption was correct, and I answered that it was not, and that you should calculate almost 2 littres / lap for the DB4. It's a good thing, that it had no influence on the result of the season !

Congrats to the season podium, and thanks a lot Tony for puttting the whole thing together.

No problem Hotkeys it was all my fault....Not paying enough attention to fuel and trying to beat your lap time

Good race & good result for me.  Grin

Although the Aston was about a second quicker, I don't enjoy driving it, so went with Merc, more chance of making the finish I reckoned. Got a good start & was 3rd for the first lap until Hristo recovered from his bad start. Couldn't stay with the 3 leading Astons to start with & kept making silly little mistakes but after about 8 laps I got into a good rhythm & start to close up on Syd.

However catching was one thing, getting past quite another, Syd was making it very wide through the twisty bits & then pulling away on the straights. Moved up a place when Mark pitted & a few laps later I got close enough into the last turn to make a dive up the inside of Syd. He held his line around the outside & we had a drag race to T1, thought I might get him on the brakes but again Syd held his line & I got up on the inside kerb & spun. Dropped back to 4th behind Mark & was lucky to get 3rd back when Mark ran out of fuel. Bad luck Mark.  Sad

Congrats to Hristo & Syd  clap clap & also to Mark & Ade in the championship.  clap clap
