Early indications are laps in the 2:02's using a Road America setup.

Eau Rouge can be done flat... just.

And what a brilliant race it was! Grin

I didn't know if Karstens fast lap in practice was on race fuel or not.  I found out in Q that it was not.  Shocked  Even if I had nailed my optimal lap I would have been just under a tenth short.

Good start to follow Karsten up the hill, we began to pull away from the rest fairly quickly.  The first part of the race we were trading fastest laps, Karsten would pull away a bit and I would pull it back, then just as I was getting ready for my stop, he spun!  Hustled it round to the pits and took my stop while I still had an advantage.  Sure enough I had 4.5sec lead with 7 laps to go.

I was pushing really hard to try and stop the gap coming down, but slowly I was losing my lead.  In the last 2 laps the car was getting unsettled and the rest of the gap evaporated within a few corners.  Starting the last lap with only 0.5sec lead, my only hope was to prevent him passing into Les Combes, the defensive line was good, but he got round the outside into the corner and that was that.

Great move for the win Karsten, you had that bit more speed that I couldn't match here.  Brilliant race Grin

One puzzling thing was that after lap 2 I began getting huge stuttering.  Connection seemed OK and it hadn't done it in practice or Q.  Most odd...

I couldn't make this one as my race machine is in the midst of being Sandy Bridged so I decided to watch on my laptop.

Excellent race I thought.  Karsten's move on Mike for the win was beautifully executed.  Mike could probably have braked later but it would only have postponed the inevitable given Karsten's pace.

Silverstone next.  I'll be well ready for that.

There's no way for the system to know you were a DNS (I've given up asking iRacing to improve their exports).

You can always exclude yourself during moderation...
