I'm with Tony. it was a very good car/track, but with the high speeds and relatively close times, if you went off
you had little chance of catching (except Cossy, who kept falling off lots, but caught very quickly  Smiley) so more laps
would have worked well. I tried and liked the 275, but was 7 secs slower, so opted to go for the 906, which was
rather good here.

Hope it wasn't me...
No mate, I was the car behind you lol.
It's not a big deal, as we said at the time on team speak, it's dificult to slow to avoid something on a track like that, when all around you might not be aware & still going full tilt. Just one of those things, unlucky & a shame.

As for the race Clive's incident (not 100% who the other car was) actually looked fairly innocent rather than a passing attempt from my ringside seat (I may still be wrong as I havn't viewed the replay of it properly) - doesn't detract from the fact that it caused absolute chaos though and lead to quite a lonely race for me - I think I needed a fellow GPL'er to get a fair chance at competition here  Grin

It was me who caused the accident, one of the penalties of driving laps on your own, you don't know how quick other drivers are through a particular section of track. Clive slowed more than I anticipated, not an excuse, I should have been a bit more circumspect. Anyway, just to make those who got involved more miserable, I would not have finished the race anyway, we had a power cut about 15 mins later.  Roll Eyes

Well......I enjoyed it.  Even racing in a middle of a 906 cup race and starting from last row  Roll Eyes
Race story is short tho, plenty of high speed, plenty of tire wear, plenty of understeering entering corners, plenty of oversteering exiting corners, plenty of braking 50 meters before 906, plenty of fun!
Ade made my night, battling with me for several laps. Quite interesting and challenging concerning the huge difference between both cars.
Thanks for the fun.

Cheers

Help Wanted !

I couldn't join the race yesterday, becayse I couldn't see the game or the the players, that I knew were online . I could only see from 4 to 6 available races !

This is what my Lobby looks like in my game:  https://picasaweb.google.com/crix2000/PG#5572387548275704066

It seems I'm the only one with this problem, but has anyone ever experinced something simular ?

Any help is most appreciated.

The answer is at the top LH corner, Hotkeys. You are in 'Novice' mode, you should be in 'Simulation'.

Got a slight nudge from Bill into Eau Rouge which set me off on a roller coaster from one side of the track to the other, thankfully no-one else collided with me but the carnage at those first turns first needs to be avoided. You don't win races on the first turn, so I've been told  Roll Eyes

Sorry Tony - a night to forget.  Didn't, like lots of drivers, get a time in practice.  A couple restarts due to my driving, and a couple due to other drivers accidents, on a good lap when practice must have finished - lap almost completed.

Due to my joining time I was well up the list of non qualifiers and got mobbed by all the frustrated faster drivers - tried to hold a line but got a number of nudges and got caught in a pincher move at one point.  PR passed me and I  hung on to him then we caught up with a number of cars of cars by the time I realised what was happening we had 3 cars in echelon and the car in front of me was stationary leaving me with no where to go.  When you're with the group you see often see clouds of dust or tyre smoke and realise there is a problem and can slow but when you're last exiting a fast curve, life gets a bit more difficult.  Apologies to the driver of the stationary 906,

You had one..................briefly!

I was doing 45s off-line in practice mode so should have kept you honest.  Shame it didn't happen.

Which quali method do you guys prefer? Everybody gets 1 lap in quali session or only top 6 from practice get shot at super pole?
Not a fan of last nights qually method.
Everyone getting one lap is entertaining to do occaisionally, worth alternating with normal qually? Smiley

Really enjoyed that combo but if only it could have been longer. By lap 8 I was ready for another 8. This is a seriously good track for an Enduro (Christmas Special  shifty )

Right on  Cool

Unofficial LapChart

Must warn that the qually results are a bit odd..

So, PnG is more realistic than GTL, is it?  Wink

There is a fix for this flying phemomenon that affects the GTR series of sims. Think it applies to GTL too. I came across it a while back in one of the other sim racing forums but i cant remember which. Its a simple entry in one of the text editable files. Wish i had made a note of it now, might even be in the plr file.
Though difference between p&G airborne crashes and GTLs is that you dont get to carry on like nothing happened  Wink

let a back wheel stray onto the grass while setting up for a corner. This sent me up the grass bank and flying over the armco where I landed heavily and rolled a few times. A career ending crash if ever there was one, but miraculously I escaped with absolutely no damage to rejoin the track and finish in 5th  Roll Eyes Gotta love the realism  laugh

During practice I went full tilt head-on into the armco leading into Eau Rouge. Engine life reading didn't flinch and the only visible damage was a popped headlight bulb! But I do agree with you that PnG is usually less forgiving than GTL, so maybe it's just these cars or this track?

Hi all guys! I was reading some comments on this race, and I saw some flying objects Smiley.
Into the .PLR there are these 3 strings. Try to modify it with these values, then save your .PLR. Remember to make a backup copy of your .PLR before doing this Smiley

BoneSpring Threshold="1.00000"
BoneSpring Min Constant="25.00000"
BoneSpring Max Constant="125.00000"

I hope to race with you soon. But you know... I can't. Have some good races guys. See you!!!

Thanks Manteos, are they the settings that prevent the airborne reactions to any impact, and prevent the over the top barrel rolls from a simple crash?

Wouldnt everbody (including the server?) need to edit the same setting to prevent any 'cheat' reactions when trying to join online race? or doesnt it affect it?
