I will be back for Barber. Not a great addition I know but it's 1 more car on the grid and another for you all to beat!

I noticed Andy was stopping so I'm guessing he got caught up in it too and spent the rest of the race feeling guilty that I'd taken a quarter of the field out in one corner. Embarrassed

No worries Paul, I think I clipped your car (definitely somebody's) and I spun in T1 half a lap later because of the damage. Tried hobbling round but after being the slowest anyway it didn't look good, should have fast-towed but copped-out  Roll Eyes

Shame about the attendance.... the tracks are good and the car is amazing but I think its peoples life's that are getting in the way (like Paul R and Darren in the Legends Team for example)

Wish i had more than one hours practise for this track!  Smiley

I think the reason for low turnouts and high drop offs,  is because we have to many cars, tracks, sims etc. to choose from. We are spoiled.
And with that many options, practise time is limited for many, so they have to choose, and choose which ever they feel best for. Sim, track/car combo etc.
Even in the iRacing series turnouts are limited, especially in the higher license races, and there are plenty of members/drivers.

I dont have any experience with sunday races in UK, but maybe its also a case of choosing family, friends, hangover maintenance over racing?
Granted, the IndyCar races are on tuesdays, and I think the entrylist consists of drivers that also race in the Endurace series?

Maybe its a question of combining all the popular cars in two series? Riley, Radical and Vette in one, and Mustang, Mazda and Jetta (or Solstice) in another? And then run them every other sunday, or some other weekday, incase iRacing SOF races (or family) steal to many entries. That gives a full week of practise for each, for those that want to attend both. I dunno, just guessing. But its sad to see the low turnouts, when we have had some great turnouts and races earlier in the season.

Oh, and Im defenetly back for Barber and Infineon  too. Great tracks.

I will just continue in this thread, since we started it here.
Regarding the low turnouts. It seems its not only here, but also on iRacing itself. I was expecting so much from the Premier Indycar series, but the turnout was very disapointing.
117 different drivers entered the Laguna Seca race
Of those, 48 drivers entered more than 1 race.
The highest attendance was at 19.30 GMT, and that was only 36 drivers.

iRacing has what, 20.000 paying members? Of these maybe 12-15.000 race regulary? The usual online count in weekends in peak hours is around 3.000. Yet, only 117 enter something that was supposed to be a premier series. I was expecting atleast twice that amount. Maybe Im just naive (didnt check how many entered the oval races).

Is it the difficulty level I wonder, because it would need a lot of practise time. So it isnt something you just do, it requires commitment, wich it turn means some sacrifice. And its not just the IndyCars, its basicly all roadcourse based series from License C and up.
Add to that the aliens, untouchable lap times. Does that scare to many people of maybe. Do they think they have to meet that standard, or even to be within 3 seconds or something, to not be embarrassed?

It really puzzles me.

P.s. This is not targeted at anyone, its just a general thing Im desperately trying to understand Smiley.

I wasn't around on Saturday to do the race, otherwise I would have done.

Premier series isn't for aliens, it's for everyone. The only reason they've given it another name from the main series is cause there is some money to win, but for 99% of the members at iRacing who know they are never going to win any money it's just another series.

Can't say I've experienced the look down on you attitude in the IndyCar road series. Ovals series yes, but for the most part the IndyCar series is pretty clean because people know one bit of contact and that's likely to be race over. It's like all the racing though, if you want to race clean you have to assume everyone is a lunatic and give them plenty of room and then not overdrive yourself.

I really think they've made a mistake having 4 IndyCar series this season as it was not a well attended car when it was just 1 series. It's also a continuing mistake to only do races every other day because instead of having the effect of compressing the drivers together into fewer races, all they actually do is make it harder for people to get a race because there is less chance of having a race on a night you are free.
