Yep let's hope it doesn't turn into a race of survival - good times though Ross and Ian, pretty close too!

Man that was hard work! Some serious amounts of sawing at the wheel going on throughout but I loved every minute of it trying to keep pace with Mr. Miles...unfortunately despite some light flirting with the lead and some fairly blatant blocking tactics the inevitable happened and Adam got a great run out of T2 on to the back straight to take track position. Still, was closer than I'd expected it to be!

WD to Ian on the next step of the podium - a really good result given you're not a massive fan of the Skip.

Thanks for coming chaps - not sure but I think the MotoGP didn't help matters with attendance, will be interesting to see how popular the V8 is as it's evidently another Marmite car from the feedback!.

Catch you at Phillip Island for some tyre butchering  Grin

well from not looking forward to a race that turned out to be one hell of a lot of fun  Grin

beginning of the race had a cracking battle with Jamie and Ross talk about sweat  Grin

again sorry to Jamie for the bent rear wing I was sure there was a gap then all of a sudden you wing bent Shocked Shocked  it couldn't have been much as it didn't even register as an incident  on the lap sheet  Undecided maybe it was a faulty wing  Wink Wink laugh

that first few laps it felt like I was on jelly tyre wise then all of a sudden they hooked up and I had cracking grip

Jamie got me off the line .good start bud I had no reply to that Wink then Ross got me  some laps later  going into turn 2, but I was able to get a good run out of turn 2 and we where side by side all the way down the next section, then on the next lap I got a tight turn 1 which put me alongside Jamie all the way up to turn 2 I took the turn keeping as far outside as I could without loosing speed and got past Jamie mid corner  then my tyres just seemed to grip like hell and I was able to pull away from them both and apart from a couple of half spins in the last quarter of the race things went a hell of a lot better than i expected  Grin

personally the first stint of the race was bloody awesome fun racing so close to Jamie and Ross thanks guys for a cracking time

well done Adam and James on the 1 2 finish i was hoping to keep that 9, 10 second gap till the end but alas my expected rounders spell turned up in the last quarter of the race  and i lost big time on ya Wink
laugh laugh

thanks to all who turned up it was a hell of a lot of fun

not sure at all about the next one I just can't handle that V8 I did a few laps last night to dust it off but I couldn't even do a full lap so unless I really put some time into it over the next couple of week i don't think it will be wise me joining that event ...............I ain't got a clue how to set that think up in any shape or form lol

I really enjoyed getting back into the Skip last night, it's been *ages* since I've driven it Smiley

Sadly I was a way off the pace so I was lapping on my own for most of the race but that was hard enough, I'm not sure I could have coped with any other cars around me! lol

I'm also not sure if I'll bother with the V8 Tongue (feel free to change it to the Sprint Car Smiley )

Awesome stuff - you had a really good turn of pace there Gizmoto. Having Mr. Miles's speed to contend with I knew I had to be all guns blazing right from start to finish to stand any hope at all. I don't think I could have kept that pace up without such good motivation right in front of me LOL.

Anyway glad you had fun - sounds like you boys enjoyed a good dicing session!

Shame you couldn't make it Dave but I wasn't sure whether to expect you anyway actually being a round of the open wheel variety - hope to catch you in the V8, I need to do quite a bit better than my anythingcanhappenfridays round last time out (https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?topic=8177#event2279)!!

Really great first half of the race with lots of close racing with Jamie and Ian until Ian got past Jamie and disappeared - great pace Ian!  That left me chasing Jamie, trying to find a way past.  Unfortunately after quite a few laps of hard and close battling, Jamie lost it coming out of T1 leaving me to trundle around on my own for the second half making numerous mistakes through a lack of concentration.

Really good race though and a great combo - thanks for hosting James!  Someone tell me again, why we don't race the Skippy any more...?

Sorry for bailing last night, I was dead last and by over 20 secs and even when I put a new PB in I was losing time to the cars in front Sad There was a chance to have a bit of old school fun in GT2 but after the game messed up my pitstop (refused to kill the engine for ages so I could refuel) I spent the 2nd half of the race tooling around on my own. Still at least I wasn't last of the runners Smiley

Because it's a bloody hard car to drive and the races we had were very scrappy with far too many incidents!

It is one of the trickier cars alright - I find it just takes me some time to adjust and no matter how many times I tell myself, I always spin the thing on the first lap out, usually the first corner LOL. It's got to be up there with the most rewarding to drive though - I was new to iR when we last ran it but I'd be well up for a series at some point now I'm a bit more familiar - God knows where it would fit though!

No probs Pete - don't forget we run practice sessions on the Saturday too so if you do fancy a blast that might help but I know it's sometimes easier said than done!

The V8 might warrant some practice  Grin - I think I've got a setup actually so I'll get that posted tonight.

Rob I'll need some kind of acknowledgement of the points in my moderator's mail before you'll be eligible for this series I'm afraid. I hope that doesn't come as a surprise.
