Because I, when testing, found a little problem with the track we used during the preseason test I have changed the track to the same but without the (V2) in the name.

The layout is the same, the only difference is that the trees have more colours, and the car on the BAPOM Cover is red.

The track dir for this one is :watkin48

What problem, Goran? We had a fine test race at the end of last year, didn't we? I thought v2 is the more stable and visually better looking version of the two.

Well, the problem was in the section after the two jumps before the field with the railway jump, at one turn there when loosing it a bit in a left hand corner I got a screen freeze. And I tried it many times with the same result so I thouhgt.

But of cause it  was when you like went off so maybe it does not matter.  If the (V2) is more stable, and it surly is better looking, then of cause we can go back to the (V2).

We will have a couple of days to decide so I will keep it open for now.

I didn't know about the screen freeze in that part. The track probably has a gap in the polygons and you freeze as soon as you hit it. But if the track is exactly the same in the other version, layout-wise, then the problem should be there as well? Have you tried to re-produce a screen freeze at it?

Yes I did and it did not happen.

But of cause I found out on the (V2) version by making a mistake and go off twice at the same place with the same result. and then try it out slowly, but maybe the other version do the same some other place.

Because the two versions have the same layout we do not have to make a decision until it`s time for the race, well except if you have markers by colour of the trees of cause.

That's a known issue with that version, v2 fixes this.

I did some more testing and when I downloaded the top option on the download link only I did not manage to make the screen freeze appear again. I do not know why but I had a "glen1948" that was 46.7MB, but the one I have now it only 38.8MB.

So, after I took everything into consideration, I have decided to go back to the (V2) version of the track. After all, as Hristo said, there were no problems when we did the pre season test, and if the (V2) version, according to Jethro, were to fix problems with the first one then we have another reason for using the (V2) version.

The track that will be used is the (V2) version that can be downloaded from: http://srmz.net/index.php?showtopic=2732

The whole post from Goran's link is V2. It's just different texture options which you can download, but it's V2 on all of them.

Your track dir for v2 should be watkin48. We ran v2 at Vader Trophy a while ago and that had zero problems (apart from drivers inability to drive in a straight line over the hump, we called that stupidity Grin).

Nope!!  this is does NOT come into the "easy" category.

1 hours practice= 3 slow laps without incident + 2 flying laps without ripping at least 1 wheel off!!!  This does NOT look good. Off to watch Hristo's lap...maybe I was going the wrong way?? Roll Eyes
