Took the lower-powered BMW again. Qualified 8th, but went past 4 cars at the start while half the grid did a weird backside waggling dance accomponied by clouds of tyre smoke. Was a bit dull after that, quickly pulled away from the pack while the top 3 left me. Went up to 3rd when PaulW ran into a sandtrap, but Mark Jonzo caught me a few laps later and breezed past in his 911. Didn't see another car for the rest of the race and finished 4th.

Another good win to LEUVEN, was pleased he didn't lap me this time  Wink, with Don and Mark taking 2nd & 3rd.

Twas fun until Tiscali intervened and discoed me.

Great fun battling with fozz, in his rocket ship, and Rich. I need to pratice more in the 76's as our very different braking points made it very awkward and eventually got the better of me. At least I avoided them and I suppose fun races are the best places to learn.

Hope to see you tomorrow.

I think I battled with everyone there, it was totally stupid and insane. I went off in the first complex early on, nothing major, but both wheels on grass, then overtook 2 cars before i got to the hairpin! That was kindof the pattern for the first few laps, I was deliberately moving wide to let people pass for position, then just blasting them down the straight! I think my tires went off, or maybe I just got scared of putting the power down because it seemed to get a lot more boat like the longer it was on the track.

I had a great battle with PaulW who was clearly so much faster than me, but he could only overtake me in the second half on the track, round the first half I was far quicker (or rather my car :-) ) Must have been 5 laps we were battling, Until eventually I nudged PW off in the first complex (sorry I realised too late that I had no chance of altering the way my car was heading), I waited for him, but got dis-orientated and nudged him off again at the hairpin! Sorry about that PW. Hopefully you enjoyed the battle as much as I did tho.

I'm so glad I took that car!

really good fun, cant wait for the UKGTR championships to start in these beauties. Had great qualy getting 3rd behind two aliens Wink
Smoked my tyres too much on  start and dropped about 3 slots min but fought my way back upto 3rd by race end after a few good dices with Rich_A and fozzy.
Great stuff and i was very happy with 3rd considering it was my first competitive outing in the 911 and first time around magny in these 70;s babies Cool

That was a good laugh!  Much more consistant than the Imola race, and I've never liked Magny much before.

Qualified in 3rd I think in the end, was 2nd after the hairpin then basically didn't see anyone for ages.  Leuven pulled away 1-1.5 secs a lap and I was pulling out 1-1.5 secs a lap also, until the last lap when I ended up double-downshifting into the long left-hander.  In GTR there'd be no way I'd have stopped before the barriers but thankfully it's GTL and I didn't damage the car.  Was just about to pull back on track until I realised Fozz's boat was on an immovable slide in my general direction Shocked so (just) managed to keep out of the way!  Then pootled round to finish 2nd, albeit after some weird traffic moments.  Grats to Leuven again for more alien-esque driving!

Still finding the field very spread out compared to GTR, though tomorrows single-car race should be much closer Smiley
