Well that was fun. Had trouble keeping the CSL on the track and trying to push at the same time. Couldn't seem to find the right balance. These cars Seem to me to be much harder to drive than the GTR cars round the same track?
Thanks Michael, but I think I actually finished 6th or so... You seemed to have no probs in the Beemer?

Qualified 2nd but had aweful start.. then was in the group with Fozz which was a bit crazy.
For double shifts I got sent a program by a guy at RSC which maps keys to wheel buttons and can also set a delay time in milleseconds before next entry can occur. I set my shift buttons to 225 milleseconds and have not had a double shift since. If you want it I will upload it to my FTP or maybe it can go on simracing.org.uk FTP.

I was driving the lower powed beemer, were you in the one with the red stripes? It's much more of a handful. I know Magny pretty well from GTR, so I quickly settled into a rythym. Getting a good exit from the corner before the long straight is critical. Was lapping consistantly in the high 1:56s/ low 1:57s by keeping it tidy. The car was a bit unpredictable over the kerbs in the high-speed chicanes, so I gave myself some margin for error. Would be interesting to see how fast one of the quick drivers could go in the slower BMW. I think it's a bit slower than the 911s, but I don't know by how much. Thanks for the key delay prog Rich, I occasionally get double shifts so might give that a try.

Yeah, cheers- I'll check that prog out for sure. The ha switch on my DFP is a bit funny with the HUD and lights I've got mapped to it. One press equalls about 10 really fast ones so that it looks like I'm driving along flashing at people when I try to turn them on. I think the heavier CSL is probably the faster car around Magny- I've a 1:55 hotlap in it so far, although not race pace admittedly! It's heavier but those long straights are where the extra power really makes the difference.

np MickeyMouse made it at RSC. I've found 300 milleseconds is a little too long for when I want to do quicker than normal downshift.. i'd say something between 150 and 250 is about right.
At GTL rank there is a 1m44 in RSR 911!! I find that hard to believe tbh..

Apparently you can do 1:46's in the beamer . Not got to 76ers in cups yet so I do find them tricky to drive but the beamer does seem the easiest. Its about the most stable car under braking I have come across and I could brake later than the 911, and fozz's rocket ship . And its a bit different to all those 911's and capris.

There are lots of dodgy times on GTLRank. Sometimes when playing online it records the PB on the wrong track, I've had this happen to me a couple times.

Hi Guys found out why the crapi did not spin wheels before had it in rev limiter. Did not have enough time for a set up last evo brakes were deadly and I ended up selling it and getting the escort. This one sounds like the cars we ran and seemes about the same for driving.bye for now gerald

Yes there are a lot of dodgy times on GTL Rank because of the bug of saving to the wrong track but don't underestimate how fast people can go with the right setup, the right skill and the practice of a car.
If I compare my GTR lap times of now to when I first started i would have thought they were impossible, but you live and learn.

True, but 7 seconds faster than Leuven sounds very unlikely.

I only did 8 laps in the more powerfull BM, and got a 1:54.212. So maybe after a few more laps I could get into the 53's. I havn't been In the lower power BM yet so Ill post the results when I have them, as I only really go on GTL when there is a fun race ATM. Hopefully a league/season will start soon and I'll be on it more.
