Moderator's Report

Server replay time: 0

Lap 11

The different lines taken by the Mustangs cause confusion for the lapping Corvettes, and after a cautious pass, Reign Man spins in the hairpin and in avoiding Adam Parle hits Shark.

  • Racing incident

Server replay time: 0

Lap 13

Adam and Jasper are side by side going into the right hander, Jasper takes a compromised tight line but then drifts very wide on exit. It would have been wiser to remain on a tighter line as it is likely Adam is still in close proximity.

Reduced to caution - no penalty requested.

Server replay time: 0

Lap 17/21

Iain does not provide a clear signal that a gap will be left but Simon commits to the corner. Rear end contact is made, however it is clear Simon is braking and it is not deliberate.

I do find this a little confusing, not difficult at my age  Embarrassed, so if I do my regular pitstop in the Mustang and have minor damage will that use up my fast repair and thus I effectively now only have a fast tow up to when I pit?

I'm not entirely sure how it's all going to work tbh ....

I'm proposing running a short race at the end of the Saturday evening session to try and test some of these things....

Yes, the way the release notes are worded it sounds like that will happen

...and thus I effectively now only have a fast tow up to when I pit?

It's explicit that if you don't have any damage the "fast repair" will not be triggered so if you pit for tyres/fuel and have no damage you can still use your "fast repair" after that pit stop.

Must say, I'm interested to see how many meatballs we'll all see in the main event.  I think that it could REALLY shake things up.  It's a bit of a shame the Vette hasn't had the same changes (the DP has - for the Grand Am) - hopefully that'll be changed in the not too distant future though ...

Seems a bit strange that you can't make the decision whether to repair or not doesn't it!? If you've only got minor damage you may not want to waste the time getting it fixed in the heat of battle.

I can see that really becoming annoying but I guess it depends whether they limit it only to fixing things that affect performance as opposed to just slightly bent doors, missing mirrors and wiping off Oldie paint!

A fast repair is just that - no time messing around, just a new car when you pit.

Oily, you can make the decision on whether to repair minor damage or not, just not on your first pit which would use the "fast repair".

It's not possible to set fast tow by car, just at the event level so the situation we're in now is a compromise because the Corvette isn't repairable yet. Once it is I'd expect we lose the fast reset / fast repair and just use the standard repairs.

If it's major damage i.e. that's black-flaggable, you won't be allowed back onto track until it's repaired (if, indeed, it can be repaired).

I must admit I'm stunned that they would choose to release a new build again mid-season to beta test the damage repair system and add stupid mirrors to the IndyCar. It annoys me greatly that they keep changing the physics and tyres and gawd knows what else, cause you can learn a car all you like for them to then go and change it mid-season. For a new season ok fair enough you're improving the game but not mid-season that just wreaks incompetance to me and using us as beta testers for new features instead of testing it themselves, well they can go suck my lollipop.

5 in the practice server ..... hmmm.

I'll run one at Silverstone, but it it's not being more widely used I'll not run practice sessions next season.  I would have attended, but iRacing doesn't run particularly well on my phone Cheesy ... didnt' get back to the house till gone ten.

Practice time now then....

I wasnt able to attend practise yesterday, so I will practise this afternoon.
Dont know, maybe it would be an option have the practise Saturday afternoon, rather than in evening?

I wonder what the Vette race pace is around Sebring. 56's?

Im really sorry guys, but I have to withdraw from tonights race, due to the simple reason that I dont like this track at all. I dont know what it is with it, but its just the entire nature of it I guess, its flow, corners etc. It would just be 90 minutes of being there for me, I wouldnt be focused at all (and make tons of mistakes, and most likely quit in fury), and thats not fair to you guys, and my self for that matter.

Im really sorry, especially now that we suffer from low attendance in the races.
