Moderator's Report

Server replay time: 0

Lap 11

The different lines taken by the Mustangs cause confusion for the lapping Corvettes, and after a cautious pass, Reign Man spins in the hairpin and in avoiding Adam Parle hits Shark.

  • Racing incident

Server replay time: 0

Lap 13

Adam and Jasper are side by side going into the right hander, Jasper takes a compromised tight line but then drifts very wide on exit. It would have been wiser to remain on a tighter line as it is likely Adam is still in close proximity.

Reduced to caution - no penalty requested.

Server replay time: 0

Lap 17/21

Iain does not provide a clear signal that a gap will be left but Simon commits to the corner. Rear end contact is made, however it is clear Simon is braking and it is not deliberate.

BorchersDK the track grows on ya the more laps you do ..honest Wink

in what little practice I managed last night ..had to drop out as unexpected visitors arrived  Roll Eyes .....sometime I hate real life cos I was having fun I was running 56's and I wasn't the fastest when I left ..I think in the race I'm hoping to be running 57's-low 58's or I'll be left way out of the running Wink  during the official race I was even slower I think this season so maybe I'll struggle  Grin

Nah, I've tried it numerous times in all sorts of race games since Sports Car GT in the late 90's, it never fails to bug me. Is still the same in iRacing, no matter what the layout. Maybe its a build in hate towards it, dunno. I do love watching the 12 hours of Sebring though, hehe (is next weekend btw.).

I used to hate this track with a passion, now I kinda like it Smiley

Sorry I couldn't make the practice, Saturday is almost always a no-go for me.

I'm just about starting to feel comfortable here, finally into the 2:24's but mid 2:25's are more realistic for the race (I hope!).

Looking forward to the race Smiley

Sebring was always a track I never liked much but, when the official series ran there a few weeks ago, for some reason something just clicked. Not really sure what it was but I hope it clicks again tonight! Grin

Although I'm not 100% certain at the moment, as things stand I won't be able to make Spa. So, I've got some extra incentive to make this one a good 'un Smiley

I'll miss the race tonight, I don't feel well enough to make it to the end of an endurance. My eyes would probably esplode.

I under estimated the effect this would have my injury. Was really hurting after 6 laps. Couldn't hold slides and gave up when I had a coming together with a Corvette.

Hate the bloody place.

Thanks for hosting Adam.

Discoed before half distance.  I'm not bothering to rejoin as I was not enjoying it at all.  Car was bouncing around like a spacehopper, no consistency, no pace.

Hate this place.  Another poor score, my season is going to the dogs, at least I like Spa I suppose.  Undecided

Not much luck here either.

Made a mistake whiel lapping the stangs.   Made a hash of trying to get the car off the track.  Sorry guys, I thought I put it in reverse.

Got hit during an overtake attempt 1 lap later,  bent steering.

Pit.  Quit.  Cup of tea.  That my night done!.

Bring on Spa!

Several of us seemed to suffer discos at the same time Mike, I reconnected only to get kicked before the tow completed. Connected again only to get kicked before I could complete another lap so I gave up.

The more I drive the Vette the less I like it. Wish I was driving the Stang tbh at least it has more life in it. The Vette is so dead, bouncing around like a bucking bronco. Totally undeserved 3rd for me, especially as I rammed Pops up the rear to send us both spinning gracefully across the asphalt.

Dare I say it but I'd like to try the V8 next season as it's had about 2 laps use in the year or so I've had it, but I suspect that's cause it's a car I hate too. LOL.

See you for the final round at Spa. Not looking forward to it greatly, but positive thinking I could get another undeserved 3rd by driving like a plonker if I'm good.

Shame about the mass (3) discos at once. Reduced the field somewhat.

Epic ... EPIC race!  That was absolutely awesome.

I set a new PB in qually and broke into the 2:24s which I was really pleased with, but with Pops and Jasper behind I knew I wasn't going to have any peace at all ... man, was I right!!

Try as I might, I couldn't keep pace with Raimo, and Dave was in a league of his own on this one, but Jasper was never more than a second behind ... and mostly less than half that.

I was driving pretty consistently, so Jasper never really had that much of a chance to pass for the first quarter of the race,  but then he started really closing in and we were side by side on a number of occasions.  Sadly two wildly different lines in the last corner meant we banged doors and Jasper came off worst Sad  I was sad to see you pit, but was hoping the new implementations on damage repair would see you rejoin the fight ... glad to see that was the case Smiley.

With Jasper taking an early stop, I had Pops for company, ready to capitalize on any mistake I made ... but thankfully I managed to keep it steady and stay ahead.  I made a solid stop the lap after Pops, and came out a couple of seconds infront of the repaired car of Jasper, with Pops just behind.

The second half was much like the first ... HEAVY concentration to keep a second or two ahead, and although it closed down Jasper didn't quite manage to get back into a passing position.

I'll take a podium finish any day, but I really feel I earned this one .... epic racing, lots and lots of fun.  Bit of a shame the field wasn't a bit bigger, but I know Sebring isn't everyone's cup of tea.  Hopefully the magic of Spa will see a packed grid for the season finale and the crowning of the i5e champions.

Dare I say it but I'd like to try the V8 next season ....

I'm open to a change of cars, but I can't see the V8 being a good fit for it ...

Whew, that was one of the most epic races ever for me. The start was relatively calm and I settled in behind Adam. I was one or two tenths per lap quicker than him but couldn't find a way past, tried a couple of times in the last corner but it scares me so much I didn't dare try anything fancy Grin We had some awesome racing going on until around halfway in the race when I got a good run onto the back straight and as we entered the last corner side by side I messed up somehow and ran into Adam. Luckily we could both continue although my steering was completely off. (no damage for Adam) I then entered the pits for an early stop and thanks to iRacings new damage system my car got insta-fixed with no time loss at all. When Adam made his regular stop we were again only a few seconds apart and I managed to creep up to him a couple of tenths each lap. With 2 laps to go I caught up to him and it looked like we were going to battle once again but I messed it up on the last lap and half spun off the track but could go on. This cost me another place to Iain who had been sneaking up on us Grin

Corvettes were awesome and very patient, thanks guys! Sorry to hear about all the connection problems, sucks when that happens... and I hope your injury gets better soon Robin!
