Nice one Clive , though you say you didn't have enough gas you sure made up for it in the report   Cheesy

BTW  How do you know how much fuel you have left ?

Haha, I was just about to ask the same after reading Evil's report!  Grin

Something I have discovered only recently with the newer version of Prib.

At the bottom right of the screen ( at least it is on my monitor) ii shows the amount of fuel remaining.

Let us assume that it is a 45 lap race. The first 5 laps are frantic and your concentration is fully upon the cars around you. At the 40 laps to go point you are in clear air and can spare the half a second to glance at the fuel left in the tank as you cross the S/F line. Check the fuel level maybe 2 laps later, and if you have more than 20x what has been used then you are OK. I discovered that I was probably going to be approx 1-2 laps short, probably because I had been using max revs in the early battle.

By short shifting and trying to carry more speed through the corners I made up the difference I needed and fortunately, because I had a healthy lead I was able to back off in the later laps and come home with some spare fuel. At the time that Hristo was closing in I had calculated that I had just enough to reach the end of the race but if I started pushing hard to stay ahead of Hristo I was in danger of not finishing, so I had to try and concentrate on ultra smooth driving to maintain the pace.

Nice addition to Pribluda then, might convince me to use it again just to benefit from that.

Because there were not that much interest in cutting the race short and because it should not have effected the championship standings and because of the rather massive extra work it would have been I decided to post the result from the whole 44 lap race.

Yeah, Pribs had the fuel thing for a while now - very handy for figuring out race fuel loads and staying on top of your consumption in-race.
Although I don't think the Eagle ever needs more than 10 laps worth personally Wink

Good end of season blast there for lots of you. I had the usual start from pitlane as I pushed for a better qually time and missed the start!
Don't know if it has any bearing on the server prob's, but I tried several times to join with the Lotus -as agreed with bernie- but when I clicked the green button to go on track GPL went to small screen in the corner. This happened 3 times and out of frustration I chose the Brab, with no problems.
After playing catch-up and playing with the hay bales I realised something wasn't right with the handling
and got caught on lap 22-dismal:(
Tried to keep up with evil for a lap then lost it big time in front of someone going into t3. After that it was just keep going to the finish.
Enjoyed the season but this was a bit of an anti-climax for me- bring on S21.
Well done podium and hard luck to all who disco'ed
PS
Up the WAZA's.

Well done Nigel, She has been watching your progress and is pleased with your points contribution to the Hiki Waza cause.
Of course, next season SHE will expect more, because all of our success is belong to her.

You mean Dave that you had a screen freeze after you had retired the race? When you were watching, from what position were you watching? Someone`s cockpit or? Was if from the cockpit of one of the drivers that had screen freezes or?

I am quite puzzled about the screen freeze fenomen that is why I ask.

Göran

Yes Goran, I did have a freeze while spectating.  I was in Hristo's cockpit I think when it happened to watch him try to close on his team mate, although I did sometimes jump in with Clive to see what lap times he was putting in compared with H.  But I'm fairly sure I was riding with H when it froze.

Dave passed me into turn one vary early in the race ,but I braked early because tim was going sideways in front. didn t think anyone would pass me then..wasn t that a bit ungentlemanlike dave? Wink

It was a bit wasn't it, felt guilty for a while but soon got over it!  Grin   After all, I had to take evasive action and it might have been risky to anyone behind if I lifted!  Wink

Until now I had always thought that the new button on my dashboard with a "snowflake" symbol was something the Hiki Waza boffins had fitted to my car to give air conditioning during hot races.

"How very considerate of them to consider driver comfort in a hot fundoshi"  I thought.

When I pressed it during the last few laps of the Effex race I was disappointed to find that it did nothing for the temperature in my cockpit, but it seems to have had a very different form of freezing effect which I had not expected...................... Roll Eyes whistling shifty
